great win for the birds coming down the home stretch, 18 hits in total:banana: -
Completely agree

Dalton Cornett should step up an take the lead role for the inside linebacker group with Luke Ross alongside him. Joe Steiden should see some PT at corner with Carter Burke getting some PT at safety.

Many players come to mind including Ziegelmeyer, Combs, Slusher etc... Who do you all think is most deserving
-
Kirchler started and a side arm pitcher whose name i dont know closed the game out

Highlands' problem in this game was mostly pitching and somewhat fielding. They hit the ball very well with only 1 strikeout and many balls hit well, just right at beechwood fielders or they made impressive plays. Congrats Beechwood, solid squad this year
-
Doubt it, he had a pretty good fastball but pretty average slider curve and change
-
The 9th region may be the most unpredictable region int he state this year; Ryle, Cov Cath, Beechwood, Boone, Conner, and don't count Highlands out, they always seem to click at the right time. Going to be a very competitive 9th region tourny this year, no doubt

Birds looked great. No usual struggles from them such as walks and errors. Really got into a groove at the plate as well
-
Obviously greenup county has a great team this year, should they be in the national top 25?
-
Great spelling there guy

Michael Davidson from Highlands can surprise a lot of people this year, he's not the biggest kid in the world, but he has been working extremely hard in the offseason as he was bothered by an ankle all of last year.

Johnston does throw some nice balls, and i feel that he would excel in a 7 on 7 type game more than Gosney simply because he has a better touch but just as you said, 7 on 7 is not game situation. Also, from what i have heard, Johnston lacks a good attitude and work ethic in the weight room, and you know how much Highlands emphasizes weight room activities. I feel that the coaches have seen this and may be more inclined to play someone else. -

From what i have heard, Schoellman had an immense amount of trouble going against the first string defense in practice last year and i don't know much about Kramer but would be extremely shocked if Weinrich were to start him. -

Brady Gosney will win the spot no questions asked, Johnston may as well move to o-line right now, kramer is far too inexperienced for Weinrich to consider, and Shoellman can only throw the ball about 40 yards -
Joe Martin had a good amount of power last year as well. However i feel that Bowden, Mayhew, Kreeger, Finfrock, and Walkenhorst all have enough power to hit multiple home runs. Walkenhorst has gained an insane amount of muscle mass over the past year and i feel he is the biggest deep threat for this year's team

I believe Bryce Ziegler plays both and he catches more than he pitches

Any thoughts on possible candidates for mr. football for the 2016 season?

Let's be honest here, all a state is not a difficult tourny for ncc to win every year, they have imo the best athletes in nearly every sport in that tourny every year, however they cannot get it done year in and year out. Could just be the overall baseball program at ncc not ever really gaining too much respect around the students and athletes, but either way ncc is far too talented to be where they are in baseball every year.
