Nice win for the Dirty Birds!!

Ethan Doty pitched complete game with 12 K's, 1 BB's, 1HBP, 5 hits and 2 runs. E grooving at the right time.

great win for the birds coming down the home stretch, 18 hits in total:banana:

CCH down by 7, last inning, man on first with one out and one of their best hitters at the plate. And he bunts?

Two things:

1. CCH bunts. All players at CCH bunt. It's worked pretty well over the years.

2. You are also assuming the bunt was FOR THIS GAME. Coaches work on things during the season including late in the season so that when tourney time comes they know what they've got.

3. It's one meaningless game.

I know CCH bunts and always has bunted but that seems pretty silly. If they can't bunt by this point in the season it's a little late to be practicing in the last inning of a game. I'm not trying to argue the bunt first philosophy that's been in place for 30+ years but I think you'd have a lot of people that would argue the point that it has served them well over the years.

I see coaches every day working on aspects of the game with post-season in mind.

he was 0 for 3 at the plate in the game thus far with 3 strikeouts

he was 0 for 3 at the plate in the game thus far with 3 strikeouts

Isn't he hitting about .400 for the year or do I have that wrong? With Doty having 12 K's it doesn't sound like he was alone. LOL

Who threw for CCH?

Bingo. With a bunch of Ks already and needing a bunch of runs, they may have wanted to make sure of putting a ball in play and forcing HHS defense to get an out. If they bobble it, you now have a rally. If he Ks, no defense is involved.

Who threw for CCH?

Armstrong started the game and relieved by lefty Ryan Epperly(sp) and Sean Michaels.

I don't know what he's hitting but he's a terror on the base path!

Fantastic win for the Birds. They always seem to be playing great baseball this time of year. Does Doty have any offers yet?

When you are in a game and you make decisions you are ripe for second-guessing. Comes with the gig.

With that some of the facts and/or assumptions in this case are not correct.

Very good win for Birds and a strong final pre-tourney outing for Ethan.
