Region 5, 7, 8, or 10???

Featured Replies

I feel good about going to watch newport central catholic win the 9th last night and want a game with good players, good atmosphere, and a classic game tonight. Which one of these do u think will be the best;

5th Taylor County vs Bardstown

7th Trinity vs St X

8th South Oldham vs Anderson County

10th Augusta vs Mason County

I want to see this Augusta team everyone is talking about. I love the small town story but Montgomery county is so far away I dont want to make that drive. Its a good 2 hours.

Help a brother out.

Hard to beat a T-X regional final, I would think.

The 7th will be good, but the 10th is historic. Augusta hasn't played in a regional final in any of our lifetimes (holding my tongue on an @mcpapa joke here) and may not again.

You're a barrel of laughs.

7. No question

Agreed.

But the Augusta story is something else, that's for sure.

Sorry, my friend.

you win.

you win.

Only because I've outlasted everyone else.

To the OP - if you do decide on the 10th, get there by 6:00.

Anyone considering the 7th keep in mind doors wont open until 6 and only a very limited amount of tickets were allowed to be sold at each school. The infrastructure for selling tickets at an event of this stature at this venue is pathetic. Expect long, slow moving lines.

The parking situation is better then it used to be but still bad. Wear your walking shoes. At least it's supposed to be warm tonight.

Eat before you go to the game. With only 1 very small concession stand the lines are outrageous which is probably a good thing because there is only 1 small restroom for each sex, lines there are terrible as well.

The gym itself is beautiful, the powers that be did an amazing job with it. The supporting infrastructure was very obviously skimped on.

Thanx for all your input (and the 'old mcpapa' jokes). I dont think I wanna make that drive to the 10th although the game will be very good. I will be following updates and rooting for the small school.

I am pretty confident that Taylor County will come out a winner bcos I'd like to watch Goodin again @ Rupp next week. It sounds like they're on a nice run lately.

That leaves the 7th or 8th. I really dont care for watching games @ Valley. I dont think the atmosphere is that great for a bball game, even a region final. It sounds like the 8th region final will be a competitive game. Will it be a full house and loud crowd? Im leaning towards the SO-AC game. I know SO is good but havent seen A.C. yet. Sounds like they will have a nice team for the next few years. Plus its only 35 min away which is a hige plus.

Ever game should be very competitive

My vote goes to the 10th. If I wasn't going to the 12th I'd be on my way to Augusta/Mason County.

My heart says yes but google maps say NO. Montgomery county is 2 hours away but the SO- AC game is within 30 min.

The South Oldham/Anderson County game at Henry County will be off the hook. The Roy seats 5200 and it will be packed without question. Older gym with some refinements over the past couple of years.

Best atmosphere around and great folks there. That's my advise.
