March 8, 201610 yr I understand that completely' date=' but from what I read the announcer talks with his hands, and was simply describing two players fighting over the ball. If that is true, a huge overreaction by Pat Adams. Just officiate the game, and quit worrying about what everyone thinks about the job you're doing.[/quote'] No argument from me.
March 8, 201610 yr Disappointed to see Valpo go down. I would much rather see them in tourney than some 4th, 5th place team in a big conference, i.e. USC, USC, UConn, etc. Got to see Valpo play at NKU. They would have presented some mismatch problems for a bigger name school. Alec Peters will be logging time in the NBA for the next decade; solid player.

If the Horizon League had designated its regular-season champion as the AQ for the NCAA, this would not be an issue. Never will understand why conferences like the Horizon, MAAC, MVC, OVC, etc., continue to allow a single weekend to determine their representative to the NCAA. Valpo had an injury to a guard who could not play in the Horizon League tournament, but he will be back for the NIT. They are clearly the best team in the Horizon and should have earned the AQ for the four months of work they demonstrated such. Instead the Horizon will be represented by one of two teams that should be easy first-round fodder for a high seed. Valpo could have won a game or two and done much for the Horizon League brand.
