Kudos to the Campbell County faithful for taking the loss in stride. Nothing but class from what I saw at the game and what I see on here.

 

First game that the wife has seen all season. She was optimistic to the end - kept telling me that she had seen SO MANY 10th region comebacks against Mason County over the years to count anyone out. She also told me about seeing some of these guys in middle school trying to shoot free throws; said it was self-defense as she never knew where the ball was going.

 

We will probably try to make it back on Monday; hope to connect with a couple more BGPers there.:thumb:

I'm sure every region will say the same.

Woodstock, just relived the game through your update thread.....Great Job! Absolutely an awesome gym, and wonderful seats with backs in lower arena. Just a shame that casual fans won't travel to Mt. Sterling. Counted 1st game attendance at less than 700, by 3rd qtr. Paris and HC people started to arrive and would estimate 200-300 of first game crowd left and more than replaced by new faces for 2nd. Would guess 1,200 hundred total attendance for 1st session. Shame for the schools.

 

Tonights session should be much better attended with MoCo in first and Augusta in 2nd.

Don't know when boys went to 4 school night/ work day conflict format, but got to significantly impact everybody. Giving up Fri/Sat premium nights was a stupid decision 10th Region ADs.

I have read through 4 pages on this thread and it is really great to not read anything about expectations that lie on young kids that Campbell should have won this game because they won the region 2 years straight, they beat Mason by 15 or 16 earlier this season and that they should have beaten them by at least that much last night. Goes to show that in a 1 game setting and in the post season, anything can happen! I have read so much on the girls thread and particularly about Mason girls and what is wrong with them because they are squeaking by, a win is a win no matter what! Thanks for not paining me to read that crap in this thread!

I think the clip of Pig's shot was on ESPN last night. Ironic that they were on last week due to Augusta's shot at the buzzer to beat them and then they are on for a last shot winner a week later.

 

FWIW...They need to seriously look at changing the 6:00 pm start time if the games are at either end of the region. Those that get off at 5 can't make the game. I think I would have tried if it had been 6:30. I know the 9th Region's 1st games are at 6:30. Why can't the 10th do that?
