Indiana 81 Iowa 78

If IU wins through the Big Ten tournament, they have a legit case for a #1 seed. Now that says more about the state of the other teams, but it is still a major accomplishment considering the mountain Crean and company have climbed.

Maybe. They only have one good non-conference win (Notre Dame). They only had to play Michigan State and Purdue once each (they did beat Purdue); same with Maryland, who they play for the first time this upcoming weekend. They do have road wins at Iowa and Michigan. In order to get a #1 seed, they'd need to beat all the best Big Ten teams and hope for some losses along the way from other potential #1 seeds. I just don't see them any better than a 2/3 seed.

There is zero chance IU is a #1 seed. Okay, let me back off that a little: they'd need a TON to happen around the country, in addition to winning out, to even be in that conversation for a #1 seed.

That said, they have been a pleasant surprise, to be sure, and should be commended for the season they have put together.

Them having a chance at a #1 seed has much more to do with the other under performing teams around the country, not for what IU has done. When we are having to split hairs between (potentially) 6-7 loss teams as #1 seeds I think the traditional way of looking at thing goes out the window.

I think the CBS Sports Classic is what changed things. With Carolina & UK both a part of that, they made that neutral court game a part of the series. Same with UK & UCLA. They played on a neutral floor last year, at UCLA this year, & in Lexington next year.

Kentucky coach John Calipari: Home-and-home series with North Carolina to return in 2017

I think that Classic allowed UK to get Louisville and North Carolina as opposites on the schedule going forward. Home game with one, road game with the other, instead of hosting both or visiting both in a given season, as it had been for several years.

It was stated last night that IU played the 14th best league schedule in the B10....................out of 14 teams...........great year.........*

I dont like Indiana, but this is good for college basketball. Now all we need is for IU and UK to quit being babies and start playing again.

All they can do is win the games they're given. They don't make the league schedule.
