Is Clark co going to build a new gym at their new high school?

Just curious, will it be called Clark County, or George Rodgers Clark?

I am not driving that far to watch a tournament through the week. Now if they had the Saturday format id definitely spend the day up there.

 

I pick and choose like I do every year. Don't like Wednesday's matchups, not going. Definetly going Thursday. Depends on matchups for next week's semi's or finals if I go. Last year went to Monday's 9th region games at NKU, because of teams involved. Have went to 16th region games at Morehead because of matchups. Strictly not a 10th region fan only, would love to go to 14th region tourney more and have before and stayed with friends. The Fieldhouse is fine because we have been spoiled, I can take it or leave it. To answer your other question, hell yeah, your buying Cracker Barrel though.

Thought a little analytics added to the facts documented above might bring some clarity. The three years of lowest attendance and payout have a common thread for discussion:

Lowest years reviewed:

2012: lowest attendance in the 9 years reviewed. Montgomery Co. was the host and played in two games. Obvious Mont. support did not compensate for geographic issues.

2008: third lowest attendance reviewed. Montgomery Co. was host and played in Championship game. Again Mont. Co. support did not compensate for geograhic issues.

2013: 2nd lowest attendance reviewed. Fieldhouse host and return year with Montgomery Co. playing all 3 games and winning Championship. Tends to bring into question if Montgomery fans failed to travel, even for championship team.

 

Highest years review:

2010: Best year in attendance and payouts. Fieldhouse hosts and Montgomery plays only one game.

2011: 2nd best year reviewed. Fieldhouse hosts and Montgomery plays only one game.

 

In other threads the decision for the 40th to host is defended only on the Fairness argument. Some have argued, why build such a large, beautiful gym if it wasn't to host the Regional tournament. To justify that expenditure after the fact with this argument seems somewhat circuitous.

 

The numbers speak clearly, the distance is a major problem for the non-school supporter. Once your school is out, the vast majority of 10th Region fans are not making the drive to Mt. Sterling.

 

What is fair, convenient, financially beneficial and responsible for the majority of the 10th and its fans is not served by what is fair for some schools in the 40th. Perhaps its time for redistrcting MoCo and Clark to the 11th or 16th?

Thanks for the lead question. Those pesky Panthers cost the 10th a lot of money by beating the Royals. How dare them?

So you and others say location plays a huge factor into how many nights you go to games, does that mean you put a gym the size of Bracken's or Campbell's in The Fieldhouse location and you're there every night? Do you put The Fieldhouse in Mt. Sterling or Winchester and no one still goes as much? Just wondering. Am figuring Mt.Sterling could have put Rupp there and no one from Northern Ky. to Mason would be happy(I reside in Bracken County and liked going to NKU when it was there, Mason when it is there and Mt. Sterling when it is there), they all are good hosts.

This issue is getting old. Just come to realize that every 4th year the 40th district will hold the region. And I am sure when GRC gets their gym, they will alternate every 4 year cycle with Moco. Within the year the new road will be completed from the Bath County line to Mt. Sterling which will make the trip from North to South seem like a walk in the park.

Largest attendance, 4th lowest payout due to NKU charges and expenses. Attendance speaks to geographic accessability via reasonably good roads for the largest % of 10th Region fans. History as documented in Post #18, proves that the treck to Mt. Sterling is not made by many except on the night their team plays.

Seems to me the experience should be for the kids. I can tell you that I would much rather play in a college arena. Apparently, the fans would love to see that too as evidenced by the attendance. Proof is in the pudding.
