CVH was on fire tonight..Tonight he definitely looked like the best player on the floor. I've watched CCH play at least 10 times in the past couple years. Most of the time CVH disappears and you don't even know he is on the floor. Tonight he played the best I have seen him play..

Thats a little bit of a teach as CVH has played outstanding at previous regionals and State.

But , to your point , I do think he is adjusting to the influx of younger talent at CCH.

I also thought he would score more all year. IMO

I had thought CovCath would win even though I was rooting for Holmes. CovCath is the CLEAR favorite to win the region and it would be a monumental upset if they didn't.

Holmes was successful penetrating and dumping to the open man early....like the first 3 min of the game. Then they got away from it, missed layups, jacked up 3's and simply got outhustled. 50/50 balls were going to CovCath and they did a great job of moving the ball for a high % shot. CVH led the 33-8 1st half run scoring 18 I believe.

He is explosive and has great body control. His pullup tonight was $.

The 3 sophs played very well also for the Colonels. Ruthsatz, Mayer and FREDRICK are going to be really really good by the time they are Srs.

Holmes finished the year 13-12...Last time I checked, winning more than you lose is a winning record and 13 is more than 12...if you didn't learn that in elementary school.

Your constant bashing of a group of high school kids/team is really getting old.

It wasn't a typical year for Holmes and I'm sure the player's and coaches are disappointed but no reason for you to get on here and post garbage like that.

Hate and pile on while you can... history shows Holmes won't be down very long.

Walter, please point out where i bashed a player individually. Just let me know where I did that....please.

I am reporting on a team, Holmes, that just had a down year and you are afraid to accept it.

I could have gone on here and said they were "dangerous" or a "tough out" but I didn't because I knew they weren't. They were just not a good team. Can we state the obvious on here?

Just a team barely above .500

So, while my math may have been off, my analysis wasn't. Holmes just wasn't very good.

Accept it. They have a great tradition and will be back, but this year they were never really good. Sorry if that offends.

I have to call it like it is.

This website is rather very keen on manners. "Not a good team," sounds very denigrating. Just a little advice.

I had Cole shooting 11/12 with 25 points.

Cole's best game this year? AJ Mayer impressed me also, only scored 4 but seemed to do it all and you don't need the following stats to see it for yourself...12 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks and 4 steals.

When you said they are not a good team you are bashing individual players. Holmes is much better than their record. They never found their rhythm as a team this season. This simply wasn't their year. This is one of the reason I hate getting on this site because you all forget they are just kids. You don't have to name names when you say the "TEAM". Walter is right Holmes has some really great kids on and off the court.

Thanks to Panda for great pics as usual, also thanks to the Statman for a great job with the stats. Holmes has to have McLendon in double digits to have a chance, nice game by Moore. Congrats to CCH.

Boys, there is nothing wrong with saying a team is "not a good team."

Relax.

I have no problem with that statement per se. I only gave possible reasons why there would be a problem. But that was only a fragment of his statement. His entire post sounded very unnecessary and disrespectful. And I find it somewhat understandable to bothered by it. But just to clarify; I really don't care.

Entire quote was fine.

Congrats to CCH on the win and good luck to those boys from Holmes, especially Markel McClendon, great young man

"Holmes was never a factor all year. Just an average team. A losing record on the year. Not a good team."

Reading that makes me cringe tbh. He should be entitled to his own opinions though. I disapprove of thought control, which is a common problem with this site's members.
