This website is rather very keen on manners. "Not a good team," sounds very denigrating. Just a little advice.

Wow. This one made me spill my coffee. I am not sure you are qualified to give advice based on this statement.

"This site is keen on manners" Really? You can't be serious?

While I respect and admire a lot of posters on here and get along with them, its a great place to get info, etc. but there have been MANY MANY instances where threads would not be considered "manners". Please review other threads going on right now...and some in the past.

I don't think referring to a team as not being good would even come CLOSE to what else has been written on here.

You might be a Holmes fan and I get that. For further background I am good friends with a Dawgs fan and attended all of their state runs. There wasn't a bigger non Holmes associated fan in Rupp arena than me. (I was hooting loudly at the bad call vs. Madison Central a few years back as one example). So, this is not personal. I have seen this years team play a few times and just didn't see much talent.

If we cant say a team isn't good, how else shall we do it? This site will become very Pollyanna quickly.

If you are bothered by this, please stay away from some of the other threads, I feel you might not be able to handle those at all.

LOL. I'm laughing really hard. You are very mistaken.

Yes, I am Laughing out loud at how you will handle all of the upcoming posts that you are "bothered" by.

Surely you will comment on those as well? Or was it just because your team was mentioned and lost.

I think I know the answer to that.

He's a CCH guy.

Hopefully your opinion of me will change If you read my earlier posts. I just think you are mistaken of my stance. It's all good though.

No worries here. One of the things I LIKE about this site is that you can have discussions of differing opinions. (and not just because Clyde pointed out you are a CCH fan

We can agree to disagree but I find no malice in my comments when I say a team that is barely above .500 is not very good. Teams have down years, it happens.

It's certainly not even in the same galaxy as what has been written on this site over the years. Coaches and players getting ripped, school administrators getting torched, its all been written about on here by several others.

It's all good here.

I'm on to the next game.

Back to the game.....

I thought Mayer did a fantastic job at just about everything. His scoring really wasnt needed with CVH lighting it up. However, he seemed to be in the mix for every loose ball, rebound and is a nice passer who never seems to get rattled.

I think the only thing this team really lacks is that big post player. That could hurt them if they advance to the Sweet 16 from a perspective of defending a 6'7 or 6'8 stud.

Agree, this could be their biggest issue down the road, I also feel that this is an area of concern for Cooper.... this, and getting everyone healthy in the couple of days.

AJ is about 6'3 and very athletic. Mark Schult was about 6'4 on the state champ team.

How many 6'7 or 6'8 studs are there that may end up in Rupp?

Holmes finished the year 13-12...Last time I checked, winning more than you lose is a winning record and 13 is more than 12...if you didn't learn that in elementary school.

Your constant bashing of a group of high school kids/team is really getting old.

It wasn't a typical year for Holmes and I'm sure the player's and coaches are disappointed but no reason for you to get on here and post garbage like that.

Hate and pile on while you can... history shows Holmes won't be down very long.

I will say that I have not been following that poster's comments and if he has been consistently bashing this Holmes team than I totally understand the post, but it seems like a little over-reaction on your part to go after this guy if it is based on this one post. I don't think what he said is bashing anyone, unless it is piled on to other posts in the past. I also don't think that post is out of line. It seemed like Holmes did not have a very good team this year and did not meet expectations.

Again, if this has been going on for a bit, then by all means go to town ha ha. Just wanted to take up for the guy that I didn't think his post was all that bad. Either way, congratulations to CCH and best of luck to the graduating Holmes players. Younger guys need to remember the feeling and get back to the Holmes we all expect.

The best weapon Holmes had was the big boy shooting from outside. Blanking on his name right now. Maybe Brandon Moore. Nice stroke. Looked like Laimbeer stroking it from the top of the key.

Surprisingly, Markel was simply ineffective.

Holmes seems extremely limited offensively.

I was shocked by the speed from both teams. 35th District is loaded with talent.

Which is the major difference between Indiana and Ohio's big school champs and Kentucky's state champ in too many years.

It's funny that all the blame is thrown on the players. If you were at the game last night and several over the season you would know that it's not all the on the players. Who takes out their player with the hot hand but leaves in a player who seems to have trouble holding on to the ball, why would you go to a 1-3-1 when CCH is knocking down shots from the outside. Coaching also played a big part in this years season. As a coach you have to involve all the players on your team to be successful. These kids are use to winning and this is the first year this group didn't have a great season. These kids have won on every level they played until this year.

Nothing to do with coaching. M2M defense wasn't working. 1-3-1 can be effective against an outside shooting team.

Their talent level was about what their record showed.
