Coach Owen Hauck Has Died

Featured Replies

So sorry to hear the news...I like many others on this site had the displeasure of playing against Boone County back in the day, they were physical, disciplined and of course well coached. One got one win out of three tries and consider myself fortunate to have that memory. I remember the first game as a sophomore playing against Boone, looking over at coach Hauck, he had a menacing look on his face, darn near scared me half to death! After the game he could not have been a nicer person...an impression on a sophomore that has lasted until this very day. Had the opportunity to speak with him a few times after my playing days were long over...first class gentleman. RIP coach

Went 1-0 in my career against Coach Hauck. RIP Coach!!!!

I'm on the opposite end that spectrum at 0-3.

His players loved him and had a special bond with him. I have always admired that from a far.

I am sure Tony Law and Craig Mullins were there to welcome him in open arms.

We lost a great man who touched a lot of lives. I am honored to have known Coach Hauck.

That is a pretty good start on a team. Hopefully Craig can convince Coach to open it up just a little.

Bryson Warner posted this on Facebook, I think it is awesome and want to share it with everyone:

Coach Hauck was such a tremendous influence in so many lives it is hard to describe his impact but we are seeing it now! He was an awesome influence in my life as well as my entire family! Coach taught us as players to believe we could do anything, and he was more concerned about preparing us for life after football. He was always so proud of the many, many success stories of his former players and there are so many! To play for this man meant love, toughness, passion, a tremendous work ethic and complete team focus were required. We also loved and believed in our leader with complete subordination- no one was going to dissapoint Coach and what he asked of us, we gave it our best at all times! He never took roll call, because no one missed. Coaches across the state try to understand what he created, and we all have tried to duplicate it as coaches. The incredible friendships and relationships that have become as a result of playing for Coach expand over 45 years! If you played for Coach, you were in an elite brotherhood! We named our son after two incredible men- Coach Owen Hauck and Amanda's Father Owen Ray Bishop. Owen Warner has a lot to live up to for certain! Coach became a tremendous friend and supported everything I was a part of. His great friendship will be missed every day, but we have all been blessed to know one amazing man- "COACH" Love you Coach with all I have and I greatly appreciate everything you did for me and my family!! Thank you for everything! Miss you a ton! And COACH, You had a GREAT TEAM! And we WILL NOT DEVIATE!!! Also, we stopped READING THE PAPERS A LONG TIME AGO! We know they always exaggerate!

Sad to hear that. Trinity had some battles with his teams back in the day.

Rest in peace Coach Hauck.

I loved reading this thread.

I don't believe this way (meaning, praying for success in sports) but do you think Coach Hauck will put in a good word for his old team. We sure would appreciate it?
