How does Rockcastle, which barely beat Corbin and beat a bad team this week, move ahead of CovCath, who lost competitively to a perennial power from Cincinnati? Louisville Central's win over Shelby County is also much more impressive.

I was thinking about that too for a while, this top ten list is going to chance every week anyway, so I just went ahead and rewarded Rockcastle for their big margin win. Or I could leave Covington Cath. at no. three, and move Rockcastle to four. But either way; not alot of difference. That's the way I see.As for Lou. Central, I have a feeling they will be moving up in the coming weeks.

Which doesn't prove all that much, considering that Rockcastle throttled Ashland, at Ashland, the next week ... the same Tomcats that beat Johnson Central on the same field.

They may very well surprise a lot of people, but given Johnson Central's schedule last season, the playoff loss to Madison Southern does tend to resonate. For some of the talk on here that Johnson Central deserved a top-10 ranking last season, they didn't post a win that would legitimize that claim.

 

I'm sorry, but I thought we were talking about rankings for 2006 and not 2005. JC is a much better team this year. Much more balanced with a real passing threat and a much better pass D. I don't care if we're in a top ten or not, but what bothers me is that you're judging this years team by last years results. Judge them according to their success this year, we already know what happened last year!

Nearly two weeks ago, when I made that post, we didn't have a whole lot more to go on than last season's results. The first two weeks have shown ... well, I don't know that Johnson Central had played anyone good enough with which to seriously gauge them as a potential top-10 team.

 

When the Eagles play a quality team, then we'll have something to work with. The same premise applied last season, too.

Given their respective performances against St. Xavier and the fact that Bowling Green was missing a key player or two (or three) in that game, how does Highlands rate above the Purples?
