Anybody have any experiences with this group? I'm asking for a friend whose HS football player was contacted about going with them as a recruiting tool ($1500) to get him in a College to play football. Thanks for any input.

No No No No! Camps and Combines. NCSA is a total waste of money , like their partners NUC!

Check out Custom College Recruiting. They have my stamp of approval.

If you have to pay money, it's probably not worth it.

Go to some combines and camps. What grade will this player be in?

Most KY players are NAIA kids. Send film to in state NAIA programs, most have one day camps as well.

Do some research on the combines before you go. Many combines are run by 3rd party members and college coaches are not allowed to attend. Don't waste money on a combine if coaches won't be there because they will never get the results of that combine, nor do they want it. If they can't see the kid either on film or in person it doesnt matter. The numbers only count for so much.

1500 is absurd, They are negotiable, I paid them 250 and they included a Princeton online ACT review course for as long as needed. Thats the only way I would sign with them. The course itself is 299.00 so I paid for the ACT course and got the recruiting service for free IMO. They will get your video to smaller schools outside your state. They will give you a fairly honest review of your video and help retool it to best show attributes. That is the best thing we got from them. Service is nothing great but serviceable no way is it worth 1500.00.

I used it and now play a Division III sport. It is like any tool in the world: It only works if you do. If you take advantage of the web seminars and call the former coaches who work for NCSA and use the resource library, it is worth the money.

It is NOT something that you sign up for and then offers start instantly pouring in.

Most programs have Hudl. That has replaced these services to an extent.

Agree -- it works if you use it correctly. We use it to send emails and video links, research schools and coaches, etc. The resource library is very good for communications, rules, etc. You can do all the video stuff yourself on HUDL. Do not pay a lot -- no need for $1500.

Thanks to everyone for your input on this. Really appreciate it.

I would not use any scouting service unless they did it pro bono. Send HUDL highlights with a nice introductory email to the recruiting coordinator, specific position coach and include your measurables, GPA, ACT scores and desire to play. You will get a reply if they're interested but don't give up. If you haven't heard from the coach in a few weeks, forward your original email to the coaches as a new email. Continue to send updated HUDL highlights every week. Also, complete a BeRecruited profile and CaptainU profile; they're free. One last thing, complete the recruiting questionnaire on the team webpage. This is everything that we did and it works and received the replies we were looking for from the coaches we pursued.

And BINGO was his name O!

Couldn't agree with this enough. Great insights and be sure if you ever cross paths with Teemoore25 you buy him a snack, beverage, meal, etc.....you just saved at least a grand if you were considering shelling out $$$ for something you can do yourself and more importantly target appropriate levels based on skill set, work ethic, and being objective!!!

When a kid is invited to a Junior day does that count as an official visit?

Thanks!

No, because the school doesn't pay for anything.
