Is there no 10,11, or 12 graders to play JV and varsity at Mason County?

Would'nt Duffy playing with Brossart freshmen make them all better. They would have three more years to learn how to foul & flop!

 

A) 12th Graders don't play JV

 

B) Duffy playing freshmen ball this past season would have greatly enhanced that team's W-L record, but he would not have received the experience/coaching of being challenged at the higher level.

 

C) Closely analyze our charge-taking before accusing us of simply flopping. To date we have taken 47 charges (that were actually called charges) at the varsity level. If this is simply flopping, I suggest other teams get on the flop-bandwagon.

Like said earlier, the Mason County freshman team has several younger kids on the team. And also one of the best freshman in the region plays valuable varsity minutes this season.

A little shocked by this one. I thought MC's Freshmen were really good. Is CC that good or was I misinformed?

 

CC is that good this year. Great things coming down the pike for Coach Russell.

Agreed. Camels will continue to be strong in the 10th in spite of their head coach.

Interesting trivia: Brian Kirk Augusta's Head Coach played on the very first Augusta Freshman squad to win the Region. However, Mason had a young man named "Lofton" who didn't play for them during the Freshman tournament that year. Mr. Lofton is still playing in France and Brian never made it back to the 10th Region tournament . So if it's tea leaves, crystal ball or other future predictor device you use, I'd hedge against any specific predictability.

Just to clarify. I was poking some posters with my sarcastic comment. I have been a varsity parent with Aric since he was hired at CC. He is as good as they come.

His biggest challenge will be trying to get all of those guys playing time....

MC Freshman team has no size and are young. If the team sticks together and gets a couple of the guys to grow a few inches, they will be good in 3 - 4 years. Right now they play like middle schooler's at times (mental mistakes, bad shots, etc.). They played a very good second half to beat Bracken and make it to the Regional. But I don't think they are ready for top level competition yet (as witnessed by the Campbell Co. defeat).
