Just curious......why an early start after both played last night?

I thought Augusta would win this one. Lost to Mason Co. in a close one less than 24 hours before. Cardinals having 4th quarter troubles in both

This was a pickup game. And possibly because the girls play Bracken County at 6:00PM.

Thanks for the info.

GRC lost a tough one to Mason Co last night which didn't end till around 9:30, Augusta had a fairly easy win last night vs West Carter. So fatigue may have been an issue in this one for the Cardinals.

None the less good win and a heck of a way to close out the game for the Augusta Panthers, two solid wins this week with Brossart and Clark.

Our kids play hard and smart TEAM basketball. They've improved greatly in blocking out (a totally lost art in current basketball) and play hard nosed defense. Very proud of this group of young men.

This was a great road win for Panthers. Won three games over higher ranked teams this week. Cantral favored Brossart by 9.5, Augusta wins at home by 6; West Carter favored 1.6, Augusta wins at home by 16; Clark Co. favored by 9.6, Augusta wins by 12 at GRC. Great week comes at tourney readiness time. Get to test themselves against the Greyhounds at the famed Earl Redwine Gymnasium. Panthers an underdog again by 11.1. Lots of mo going at the right time.

Once again the Panthers are very impressive. After finishing off West Carter last night about 9pm the Panthers loaded the bus and left Augusta before 10am to play in Winchester. Playing about 90% of the game with their starting five they led most of the game. GRC took the lead 51-50 with just under three minutes to go but that lead lasted just a few seconds as Connor Maddox hit a layup to put the Panthers up 52-51 and GRC would not score again. The win improved Augusta to 16-6 and dropped the Cardinals to 13-11. Connor Maddox led all scorers with 31 points. Cornelius and Anderson led GRC with 12 points apiece. I would have all the scoring but don't have my sheets with me.

Augusta clicking at just the right time. Looking forward to the Bracken/Augusta game next Saturday.

Let me say this very clearly: Five guards. Tallest 6'1". Hearts huge! Effort, off the charts! Basketball intelligence, consistent and solid! Quit, doesn't exist! Watchability, fun...fun...fun...for anyone that likes fundamental basketball! Future, Panthers live in the now, and play max effort game to game! Beauty, not in warmups, but get prettier from the first tip to the last! Coaching, doesn't get more intense, strategic, proding, or encouranging! Can 5 little guards from a school of 56 boys win the Region???? Will be lots of fun to see. GO PANTHERS.

Lots of folks seem to think that this is Augusta's last chance to make a deep run in the 10th for a while; and they're playing like they can!
