Lamar will give the receivers something they have been wanting for a while now. Someone who was highly successful at the highest level at their position.

While there were others I would have rather had I think he's a very good hire.

He will bring an attitude to the WRs. He is a good recruiter also. He was a good recruiter of Florida talent for WKU, correct? UK can use a guy like him. It can't get worse can it? FSU and Miami Hurricanes backgrounds at UK? Embrace it.

Has a college coach, more than half of the job is the ability to recruit. He gives the staff another pipeline to FL extending all the way down to Miami. How good would UL have been if Jackson was not the QB for them last year? Jody Demling can say he didn't "coach" the WRs, but Lamar Thomas has is finger prints on the offense in other capacities.

 

For the WRs ability to catch the ball, they can practice more on their own, because during practice they're not going to have to opportunity to catch 500 balls during a 2 to 3 hour practice. They need to take pride in their craft.

 

As stated earlier, he brings instant credibility. If I was him the first position meeting I had, I would play "The U" for them. Just so they get a reminder of his credentials.

Thomas is exactly what UK needs. A guy that can back up what he's teaching, demand respect from a group of divas and can open doors in Miami/Dade.

I wish Coach Thomas well. It obvious to me he doesn't like working in the month of December. I think its a good choice to go to UK, will have more time around the Holidays to spend with Family.

Not at all. Just stating an opinion on the matter. I can't think any other reason to leave a program on the up tick to go to a program with the Head Coach on life support. I understand he is getting a raise. So if more money and less days is what is attractive to Coach Thomas wish him well.
