February 1, 201610 yr Makes complete sense to me. On a side topic, how does car insurance work for Uber drivers? I would think the commercial nature would make the whole Uber concept pricey from an insurance standpoint.
February 1, 201610 yr Uber is just so user friendly and a bargain price. Taxi's just provide a bad service model and people would avoid them unless there is one waiting on the street. Arrival times for a taxi is a guessing game.

Arrival times for a taxi is a guessing game. My son would agree with you. Lives downtown Cincinnati. Uses one quite often. He'll now use it when he has to fly out of CVG. Convenience and experience are much better than traditional taxi rides.

Convenience and experience are much better than traditional taxi rides. I probably use then once or twice a week. Also always to and from the airport if possible. It's cheaper than leaving your car and if the arrival airport is Uber friendly it will be waiting for you when you walk out and you don't have to wait in the taxi line.

Uber has a corporate policy that covers liability anytime a passenger is in the car, for sure. I believe it's a policy with $1 million limits. Drivers must still have their own personal car insurance as well. I know that there's been a lot of change recently about whether drivers are covered by personal insurance or the corporate policy in the time between when they signal they're available for fares and when they actually pick up the passengers. Don't know how that's shaking out.

February 1, 201610 yr I have used Uber several times and love it. Last week, we went downtown Cincinnati to see Chris Young. Had our son drop us off. We wanted to have dinner and a few guilt free drinks. Uber is a quick, hassle free way to get home, and we could have alcohol without worrying about driving after. A couple of months ago, I was in Tampa Florida with some women. We were not familiar with the area we were in and wanted to get at cab. A security guy we approached told us to text Uber because taxi service in that area was "sketchy." Not sure exactly what he meant by that, but we übered for sure!
