If you aren't already aware, the Pro Bowl is continuing to lose interest of viewers and players. Ever since they changed the AFC vs NFC to Team A vs Team B, the game has looked like a joke, and thus, harder to take seriously. In my personal opinion, I want to see which conference will prevail rather than, "which former NFL star picked the better players."

Pro Bowl is a waste.

Pro Bowl is a waste.

It's a waste because it was turned in to a joke. But my question is, could it be changed to NOT make it a waste?

It would take a huge financial incentive for the players and the owners sure won't let that happen considering what's at stake with the best players for those teams in harms way. Let's face it, the all star games of yesteryear in every sport are long gone. Baseball might be the closest we have left to what it used to be. Football and basketball are a joke. Football being the worst of the bunch.

Would it be more enjoyable if it were some type of skills competition?

I genuinely prefer those. All-Star Saturday in the NBA and the NHL Skills Competition are both must-watch TV for me, while I never watch the actual all-star games the next day.

It became a joke before the switched up the teams, that is why they changed it to try to make it more interesting. You mention you want to see which one will prevail but in these days you won't see that because the players don't play hard like they did in the 90s and stuff.

The game itself won't get fixed unless you maybe offer a million dollars to each player on the winning team because they would probably get them to play hard like a real game.

Sure but would that eliminate non skill positions? I'm not sure how interesting it is to watch the tackles demonstrate their kickstep or punch. Now, if we had them run the old obstacle course like they did on the old superstars show, that would be cool

We have this thread annually. Until people stop watching, from a business stand point why would the NFL remove it? Goodell has made mention of ways to spice up the game, but it is difficult to do.

Owners will never let that happen.

Did you watch?

I personally would like to see them make it just a bunch of competitions. Go back to conferences but have be like a 7 on 7 game for points. Have a qb contest, agility course, and bunch of different competitions that have the conferences compete against each other.

Did you watch?
Not one second this year. Not as a matter of protest, I was just busy and honestly forgot about it. I have never watched it in its entirety.

Agreed and why the game itself won't ever be fixed.

See that is what I would like to see them do. I use to enjoy that stuff.
