You are hilarious. Prickett went further and achieved more on the collegiate level than any Ashland grad since Larry Conley... and that's not a put down to any of the great ballplayers that have come from Tomcatland in the past 45 years.

Does anyone know if Ashland ever talked to Prickett once Flynn's job opened up? Or had Russell already snagged him by then? From what I remember he just moved to Ashland a few months ago.

Can someone please answer this question: Does Jared Prickett have any coaching experience? We all know that just because someone was a decent or incredible ball player doesnt mean anything when it comes to coaching, just ask Magic Johnson.

With all due respect GIAT, your complaints would have more traction if Prickett were stepping in as Head Coach. As it is, I have to believe that having NAIA Hall of Fame Coach Steve Dodd in the lead chair, Mr. Prickett would have a difficult time finding a better situation to learn "coaching" on a fast track. Assistant coaches fill many roles beyond Xs, Os and knowing when to call a time out. I can't think of a better guy to teach a bunch of kids the value of teamwork and how to over achieve with the talent at hand. He will be an asset for Russell.

I agree. Its good for him to sit and learn. But to think that it's some big steal for Russell and that he will make some huge impact in the region is laughable, atleast to me. His possibble impact on Russell is in no way a "checkmate" to Ashland hiring Coach Biggs as some people have asserted.

It is time to back off, GIAT. You can't win this one. Experience or not, Prickett's prestige and name recognition among basketball fans in the Commonwealth dwarfs that of the little-known Mr. Biggs. I doubt that Russell felt a need to find anyone in response to Ashland's hiring of a new coach. The region will be won by the athletes and not by the coaches and, from all indications (Czech Republic notwithstanding), Russell has the upper hand. Nevertheless, it is good to get an early start on the spirited debate.
