Campbell County 87 Augusta 67

Featured Replies

I think the Kentucky State basketball championship is a great thing. Any school can win it. But it certainly favors the big schools

In EVERY other state, Campbell County would be in a region with other schools its size ..... Cooper, Conner , Scott County , Mercer County .... Trinity would be everyday opponents

Would they be .500 ?

They won the region last year and lost to a smaller Covington Catholic team

Campbell County is by far the largest school in the region

What do they have 800 boys in the school?

Not too hard to find 10 who can play

I see others have already called out the silliness here, but c'mon - clearly your upset with the coach about something, and I doubt it's that you just love the Camel community and hope the best for all the students. They've had an up and down season but they are trending up and will likely win the 10th AGAIN.

Your quote above literally acts like CC is unsuccessful because they lost to CovCath... The defending state champs... Really? Some of the top teams in the COUNTRY are smaller schools. A couple stud players choose a small school and you suddenly have a state contender. Everyone who watches basketball knows this.

Yeah .....school size doesn't matter ....that's why all 49 other states play their state tournament in classes based on school enrollment

When was the last time an A school won the overall state tournament?

If you don't like how Kentucky does things then move to the state north of it. Also, I have spoken to numerous kids (all sports) who say they can't play a sport because their parents made them get a job or they just don't want to go through all the workouts, etc. sometimes kids just want to play basketball or any other sport just for fun, when you get to the varsity level it is about winning.

Incorrect. That distinction belongs to Clark County.

There is no Clark County in the 10th region

There's a George Rogers Clark in Winchester ....and I stand corrected they have 100 more students than Campbell County .... that doesn't change the fact that Campbell County has an advantage in the 10th region as does George Rogers Clark

It's simple statistics. .. if 1% of high school boys are 6'6" or taller .... Campbell County would have 7 and Brossart would have 1

I should have been more clear. Largest margin of defeat.

No problem. Unfortunately you are correct with that statement.

Please stop it with this silly talk.

Camelman.... I'm guessing you slept through statistics and the whole "bell curve" idea

It's illogical to assume the largest school in the 10th region has an advantage? A school that has more boys than Brossart, Newport Catholic, Holy Cross and Newport combined ?

Yeah right

The very fact that Kentucky doesn't have schools divided by enrollment is what creates the spirit in the State Tournament. A David and Goliath meeting. It's always good if there's an underdog factor. It's not as likely since so many counties have consolidated but it's a possibility.

Why do you hold such a grudge. You have a serious problem with Russell over a knothole game. Really? I am guessing you were yelling at an ump and knothole umps are kids. Russell is all about the kids so I am guessing he did not like you yelling at a kid. Get a clue. Your theory on being the biggest school is also crap. Winning the region is one of the most difficult things to do. There have been great coaches that have never won a region. Russell has won 3 and by the way one was with an A school. In general you need to get a clue.

Why would you assume it's all about a grudge ?

The Camels are under .500.... and made it down state last year .....with a 6'10" center

Are Camel fans really satisfied ? Wow .... that bar is pretty stinking low

As for Knothole and yelling at a kid.... I uttered 2 words

"Timeout blue"

So you admit.... the consolidation makes it even harder for David ?

My point precisely
