Population Numbers And Class Splits

Come up with a legitimate question, and I'll answer it.

I already did but Ill explain it even further. If youre not willing to go out on the field and tell those kids that the feat they accomplished doesnt mean anything then you have no right to come on here anonimously and complain about how 6 classes is the end of the world as we know it. Cause chances are you and everyone else on here whining will be no less excited if the team you root for is fortunate enough to win state. So in the end you have no leg to stand on and thats why you wouldnt answer my ?

Easy boys. Let's not get personal.

Just because it doesn't label it as 8-man or 6-man, doesn't mean that it isn't. In some cases, 1A or Class D can mean 8-man, they just don't label their title as such. Even with that, I think there are only about ten states that hold 8-man championships.

Well the link I posted shows 11 states with championships listed for classifications of less than 11 man football, so if your opinion as to the prevelance of 8-man championships is correct than I say the labels are pretty accurate in that anything not labeled otherwise is in fact 11 man football.

It's amazing that those of us that argue against six classes get characterized as "whiners." Who's whining? We're simply making a case against six classes.

If you have a legitimate question, ask it.

I agree 100%. I pose an open question to all these people who are complaining about the competition being watered down. When and If youre school ever makes it to Louisville and wins a state title are YOU going to be the one to run out on the field to remind these kids who just played theyre hearts out that that trophy theyre holding isnt as important as it used to be?

My guess is no. Cause you know youd probably get wore out on the 50 yard line in front 50,000 people and it would be well deserved I might add.

So, if you're not willing to make an idiot of yourself you can't complain? You have to be looking for a fight to have an opinion?

Let's get back on track and discuss the issue at hand. Leave the personal attacks out of the discussion altogether, please.

So, if you're not willing to make an idiot of yourself you can't complain? You have to be looking for a fight to have an opinion?

No but you have to be willing to look someone in the eyes to defend it. My point is whether you like this system or dont there are HS football playing kids who read the threads on this site and IMO it would be an absolute SHAME if even one of these kids who are BLESSED with the oppurtunity to win a state title under ANY system come away feeling the least bit inadequate about the experience because of what some people who either A} never played the game or B] theyre playing days are long over said about the title he and his teamates just worked theyre guts out to get. That would be a complete travesty.

You're posting your opinions anonymously on a message board and you're criticizing another poster for not looking a couple of hundred high school football players' "in the eyes" because he prefers four champions over six?

If you think one team is better than another and post that in a prediction this season, do you think you should have to go out on the field and look all the players of the team you picked against "in the eyes" and tell them you picked the other team? Does that really seem logical to you?
