Numbers say there are almost 3 MILLION people 18 or younger in Ohio and over 5 MILLION in Texas. Please make the comparison stop...

You can't make chicken salad out of chicken..... You have to do what is best for KY kids, not copy what is best for kids in a state the size of Ohio. What message do you send a kid when he fights to an undefeated season only to miss the playoffs???

You mean like having 6 classes?

As HHSDAD is trying to state you are making my point for me. There is no reason for our state to have 6 classes like Ohio when the number are not even close to being the same.

Based on the OH system, there would be 2 classes in KY. And as a result, you would have no invisible friends...

The point is, the OH system is a joke. Far worse that what we have. No questions asked. 3 million kids and the talent that goes with that number masks the problem, but to hold what the OHSAA does as a beacon of light is a laugh at the highest level. Are you for 2 classes in KY???

Why? And when was the last time an undefeated team missed the playoffs?

In OH? Every year. And quite often...

What about Texas, Florida, Illinois and Pennsylvania? Are they a joke too? Because that seems to be where the top teams come from every year along with Ohio.

In Ky, with 4 classes?

When was the last time a team with no wins made the playoffs? I'm not sure, but I'm betting that we'll have one in the first year of 6 classes.

Look at the SIZE of 25 or 30 schools compared to the 2 big boys in KY. We have two schools that would compete in the states you listed. We HAVE TO HAVE a different set of rules. Again, how do you plan to grow the KY population by over 100% to bring those states into the mix???

Point is the example you just stated and where we are heading are both extreme points of view. 2 classes would not be enough and 6 classes to much. Where we were at was the best possible way with the amount of football playing schools, and making titles competive.

I just feel the move was unnesceary except to free a few more schools away from the Trinity and St.X class. This does not mean if in the new class switch if my alma mater would win a title I would not be there cheering them on.

Indiana has been a VERY successful FB state and EVERY team makes the playoffs. How many 0-10 teams make it there? ALL OF THEM...

GT I really don't think you understand what we are saying. The point is we are not and will not ever be as big. That is why we find it silly to equal their number of classes.

I've stated over and over I would be all for every team making the playoffs in a 4 class system.
