Back on the topic of the game. Did both teams empty the bench for the 4th quarter?

Remy Abell has been dating one of the NewCath players sister for the past 2 or 3 years, always Xavier players at NewCath games, and open gym in the summer.

 

Interesting. Didn't know that but that's cool. Newport has an assistant from Xavier as well.

 

His Aunt is Wilma Rudolph and Cousin is Bo Jackson.

Weyer is the best player in the region and it's not even close.

 

So tough to defend. At 6'7 he does things on the floor that most guards in this region can't even do. Bellarmine is getting a steal.

Xavier had 6 guys there watching tonight might I add. Nice to see them getting out and watching some high school hoops.

 

Remy Abell dates Ron Dawn's niece or grand daughter and Newport assistant was a walk on at X. A lot of ties to both teams for the X players.

 

Mullins is a regular on X campus working out and hanging out with Reynolds, Abell and other X players.

I come back in less than a minute in the 3rd gone off the clock and notice it went from 10 to 21. They blew it open. Gonna be interesting when those 2 meet back up and Mullins is in Newport's lineup.

 

I was very impressed with Newport when I saw them beat Holmes.

 

My respect for NewCath jumped leaps and bounds when I saw them beat Cooper last week, and by comparison the Breds are in a different league all together than the Wildcats.

 

There's certainly an upside to Newport, and Mullins is a good player, and makes for a great addition to their already decent team, but if and when their paths shall meet again, no offense, but I'm not thinking that Mullins will have such an impact to erase much of tonight's 40 point victory. It might end up with a closer margin than that, but probably nowhere near enough to make much of a difference. IMO.

Pretty sorry excuse used by the official. Since when does the score determine when an intentional foul is called or not? Weak sauce. You are just letting a kid continue to attempt to instigate things without being called on it.

 

My understanding is Ben was hit with elbows in the face area as was Hebel a week prior.

Good point. The dynamics of their future meeting will certainly be altered, perhaps making for a more interesting and competitive game where Newport can hang in there a lot longer than they did tonight.
