My niece recently got married and moved with her new husband to Seattle for the next couple of years. The groom chose "My Old Kentucky Home" for the dance with his mother to remind her he will be back soon. Very touching.

The summer before last I went to a wedding in Lexington on a horse farm...as in, out in the pasture under a big expensive tent. Bride's family owns West Point Thoroughbreds. Anyway, they closed out the reception having all of the guests stand in a big circle and sing My Old Kentucky Home. Still gives me chills thinking about it.

I sang it with the WKU fans at the Miami Beach Bowl and did so when we visited PJCS in the Big East days. I look forward to it, each time we attend a UK game. However, I have a hard time getting through song without breaking down, a little.

When is that?

 

February 3-5, I believe. They will clear out on the 5th, so the 3rd and 4th would be your best chance. The program on the 5th is wel worth the price of admission as well.
