A) I believe the Diocese of Covington wanted negative cheers stopped at home games a few years ago and I think "scoreboard" was one of them.

B) Why would Wisconsin say , "USA USA" is a negative chant?

C) I always found it fascinating that no matter if you were in CALI or TEXAS or KY or NY everyone sang, "AIRBALL" the same way.

In response to B.... Half of them are originally from Canada, and they talk funny.

As for "B", I get it. When I was in school, it was invariably chanted at a kid while taking his free throws who the students either knew was born in another country or had a different-looking name. Was never a fan of using the chant that way. I love the USA chant in every other usage. So while I don't know that this was the way to go about it, I get what they're going for.

100% correct

Bilas is having a lot of fun on Twitter with this.

SVP will talk about it tonight on his show.

Banning the chanting of USA USA should get someone fired!

If that offends you, go play someplace else. I hear north korea likes to have it quiet during, well, everything!

I thought stuff like this started in California. :ohbrother:

Probably a california transplant. Those nut jobs ruined their state, then move somewhere else and start messing with them too...

Factoid of the day.

The air ball chant is almost always in the notes F and D.

This complicates things. Is it Airball in F Major or Airball in D Minor?

Adults...if they aren't fighting the referees and/or coaches they are making inane rules that can not be enforced.

Here are the actual rules...they are a lot worse than I thought

No criticizing refs (we are all human and make mistakes)

No chanting "USA, USA, USA"

No participating in the Wave

No Holding up props during introductions

No turning your back during introductions

No distracting the other team

No dressing in attire that draws attention to oneself

No body paint (except face)

oh..and NO FUN!

Just came home from Shelby Co. vs. Collins. Each of those things happened at least 5 times per team.

"Fight fiercely, Badgers, fight, fight, fight.

Demonstrate to them our skill.

Albeit, they possess the might,

Nonetheless, we have the skill.

(C'mon, chaps) Fight for our team's glorious name,

Won't it be peachy, if we win the game? (oh, goody)

Let's try not to injure them,

But fight, fight, fight"

With apologies to Tom Lehrer.

What do you expect from the party in the Oval Office the last 7 years ?
