January 11, 201610 yr I said it would be 2 games and $100K. We will see. That would be unprecedented, right? Can't see that happening, as it's too harsh in my opinion. I don't dispute that it was a penalty, but it didn't appear malicious to me. Of course, Burfict has a track record and doesn't get the benefit of the doubt (nor should he).
January 11, 201610 yr As long as they suspend the guy that hit Gio Helmet to Helmet I have no issue with it.
January 11, 201610 yr Crap fine and crap call. That one was almost the right call. The hit from the Bengal's DB earlier in the game, when he hit him legally, and was called for targeting was a complete joke. The no call on Gio was awful. But then again, this crew was absolutely horrid the last time they had Cincy/Pitt and wasn't surprised they were awful again.

I get that that call on Williams was bad (although to be fair to the officials we saw that in slow mo replay) and that Shazier's hit was a penalty. How was the call on Burfict a "crap call?"

How was the call on Burfict a "crap call?" IMO, Brown did a heckuva acting job. Burfict, while his head was down, seemed to slide the shoulder in to appear (which again could be wrong) as if he were avoiding it. Brown was also pushed into Burfict. It all happens so fast on the field and I get that. But I think it was a bad call.

Look at his limbs. That's the tell-tale sign. You can't fake that. He's KNOCKED OUT. Even if he was somehow the greatest actor in the world and fakes that (can't believe people really think that) it was still a blow to the head which is ILLEGAL.
January 11, 201610 yr It was the right call. 100% the right call. Being mad about the non-call on Shazier doesn't change that.
January 11, 201610 yr Better suspend the two Steeler coaches for the next game as well. Continue placing the blame on anybody but the Bengals...
January 11, 201610 yr Here's the video. He wasn't pushed into Burfict. Burfict did nothing to try to avoid the hit. He didn't "pull back." Dude is KNOCKED OUT. [video=youtube;-tfLncD3pGM]
January 11, 201610 yr Better suspend the two Steeler coaches for the next game as well. They won't be suspended IMO but they will be writing a healthy check.
