Farmer took way too many shots, and way too many BAD shots, and when i say bad i'm talking 27-30ft shots. He if he keeps taking that many shots Clay doesnt have a chance against good teams. Like i said Clay played terrible, Elkins did effect things some, but bottom line Blake Smith got his jumper all night and they where in and out, he just had a bad night shooting as did the team as a whole.

 

Boyle played harder, wanted it more, and beat Clay. Clay gave up way too many open 3's out of junk defenses.

That's an understatement. I don't know how it is in their new gym but in the old "Tiger Den" back in the day, along with the bias of the 13th region refs, UK would have been pressed to have gone in there and won.

NOBODY on the team should take 30 fg attempts a game, this includes Smith,Farmer, Wolfe, or the rest. Especially when a third of those where bad shots. If you eliminated the 8-10 bad shots im fine with it. Like said above 30 fg attempts from one player is not conducive for winning games. And i agree Smith was off last night, he missed his normal shots. But in order for Clay to win and play at a high level they must pass the ball. I watch them on a daily basis, and last night was terrible, 3 asst for the game, by far worst of the year.

Refs was a non factor, called a pretty decent game, a very physical game but was some what consistent. Never made an attempt to take it from Boyle.

There was a lot of dribbling and then a pull up jumper off the dribble last night. Not a lot of ball movement to find the open man.

This is very true. They are currently third in the state behind Kentucky School for the Deaf and Riverside Christian. I know people will look at the Boyle County schedule and point to the competition Boyle County has played but anyone who has been around Boyle County since Coach Adams arrived knows that strong defensive teams are his calling card. More often than not Boyle County will hold teams to one of their lowest scoring games of the season. With each game the Boyle County offense is getting better, more confident and more efficient. If this team can maintain their defensive focus, and I am pretty certainty they will, then my belief that no one in the 12th Region will want to see them in March will definitely become a reality.

Farmer shot 30 shots. Smith 19. That's 49 shots Boyle just shot 48 as a team. Not many shots left for other clay kids

I wasn't implying that Boyle isn't a good defensive team. They generally are tough on the defensive side.

 

This FG% number is much better evidence of that fact than points allowed. Coach Adams is also known for a deliberate offensive style, which lends itself to allowing less points.
