Did Carson Williams become the Mr. Basketball front runner tonight?

Taylor will have to get the transfer able to play to have any shot at getting out the region and will still have a tough time getting passed North Hardin. Goodin and Sloan are averaging 50 points and 15 rebounds a game. I thought from the start of the year Taylor was a little to high ranked.

Whomever leads their team to the state tourney gets bonus points in this contest.

I agree 100%. I think Mr. Basketball will play in the state tournament this season.

It's safe to say that at this point they have a lot more teams to worry about in their Region than just North Hardin.... They may not even be top 3 in their Region with the way they play as a "Team". Furthermore, regardless of how many points their Dynamic Duo scores, someone is going to have to sit down and play DEFENSE at some point in time...

Long way to go before this award is decided, all the players mentioned above would have to be in the running. Got my first look at Jacob King from Trinity against Bullitt East and if he continues to play at this level he's right in the mix.

He's a junior. Only seniors can win Mr. Basketball

If getting to state tournament is a criteria then Faulkner is disqualified already. No way Caverna gets through Taylor and all the Hardin schools in February.

Not true IMO.... That Region is wide open from what I have seen.... No one has separated themselves from the pack. North Hardin has played well in the KOB Holiday Tournanment, and I am not taking that away from them. But we have seen this happen before with teams during Holiday Tourneys.... There are many things at play mentally and physically during this time of the year, and you just never can tell how it will affect players or teams. Once the dust settles from the Holidays, I imagine that one of 4-5 teams will have a chance at winning their Region. Furthermore, when you have a player like Mason Faulkner on your team, you ALWAYS have a chance. That kid is a LEADER!

I think they have changed the voting process and I think they vote before the Sweet 16 now.

Just saw him dunk on Ballard down the lane tomahawk from about 8 feet away from the rim. Yep.... He's that good.

IMO Williams has to be the front runner for Mr. Basketball. I saw Williams & Goodin play this week at the KOB. If I had a vote it would go to Williams because of what he does for his team on a nightly basis as well as how he plays the game. I saw a few monster dunks from the kid and he never showboated, he ran back down the floor and led his team on defense. Williams is the most complete player in KY. After talking with a few of their fans I heard he is a 4.0 student too. Total package.

Unfortunately, I don't think he will get it due to the years of hype surrounding Goodin - but I hope he does. It should be an award that goes to the best high school basketball player in the state as opposed to who has the most college potential - and Williams is a better high school player. I'm also not so sure Williams won't fare better in college.

I'm also HUGE on the academic and character piece. He's a kid that quietly does his thing. That's refreshing.

I think after this game the tide has turned in his favor. We shall see.

Carson is pretty good..he's got my vote. He just does so much on the floor. I'm a fan now.

Haven't seen Bardstown play this year so they couldd be another team to give taylor a run. Even after losing to Adair I don't think they can bear them again.

On defense TC problem is they try to gamble WAY to much, and have no type of inside presence

He was my frontrunner before this game.

The award is given out before state tournament now. I hate that.
