Wonder who's on the short list of candidates? To be done quickly I would think you would need to contact them ASAP. Also, keep in mind that EVERYONE is now withing that 30 day window to not let a coach out of a commitment.

Just to spark the conversation, here is a list of people in the system who do have coaching/ playing experience:

 

Patrick Kelsch

 

Chad Persinger ( girls softball coach, played in college at Kentucky Christian, won a few National Titles)

 

Wade Smith ( current freshman coach, PE teacher at HS, all around good guy)

 

Tracey and Stacey Florer (current JV coaches, not teaching in school system)

You can lay the rumors of Patrick Kelsch to rest. I have been assured he will not be applying and is very happy coaching w/the girls! I have heard that Chad Persinger is interested in the AD job and I would bet Wade Smith has already put in for the job.

 

Something to keep in mind here, Hammonds had been rumored for another job earlier in the summer. Perhaps, the administration had a list already put together? I would bet this will be a teacher/coach hire, this will be a certified teacher who gets the position!

Sounds like Bracken County has already hired a SID(Sports Information Director) at Bracken. Gee I only thought that hire was in college:confused:

Persinger is not the man they want.

Persinger isn't the man for the coaching position--and I knew that--or the AD spot. I hear a woman could be the next athletic director at BCHS. Hum???

A coach has been named at Bracken County! He will have big shoes to fill! Good team coming back which helps the first year but then we will see. Of course we should wait for TubbyCat to announce since he is the all knowing in this saga of Polar Bear land :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Yes a woman could possibly be the next A.D. As for the coaching position I would bet it will not be the Florer's because they do not teach at the school and the administration would prefer someone who does. And I would be very suprised if Wade Smith got the job although he has applied.

Good Luck to Coach Hammonds, I know the people of Bracken County will miss this fine young Coach, I met and talked to him several times over the last few years when I did worked at a gas station in Washington, he stopped in there a few times and we talked about basketball and the 10th region, very cool and intelligent man.

The new Bracken County coach will do just fine, no names yet--I can't. He did play in the 10th region in the 90's and was a solid player. He has coaching experience and has passion for the sport, good hire for Bracken County!
