Bowling Green vs. St. Xavier

Featured Replies

I think that X comes out of the gate with a purpose and defeats BG in this game. I don't predict a blow-out, but not nearly as close as last year.

I don't see a blow out one way or the other. I think it will be a hard-playing game like last year was. I am sure that BG will play just as hard as last year.

BG 14

X 7

This will be a hard-fought win for the Tigers as the other :fire: derbycityduo :fire: (Vic and Duece) take center stage.

Will this be the first game of the doubleheader?

It will be close but Bowling Green hasn't found a way to win the 'big' game in recent years. I'll take St. Xavier 28-14.

I don't know for certain, but my guess would be no. Pretty much every year (or maybe EVERY year) since the bowl's inception Bowling Green has played the second game. But maybe they made another arrangement in light of last year.

Yes.

This year it will be the first game...if I am not mistaken.

Maybe true, but, we won't know until it is played!;) I see good things happening this year for the Purples!

There will not be many passes in this game. Both teams will play good defense and try to pound away. St.X should have a very potent running game this year with Vic,Duece,Eckman, & co.they will be extremely strong (they have been putting up some unbelieveable numbers in the weight room and just won another national powerlifting title)but they are very young and have a new QB. BG has Hibbit and he is worth a couple of TD's. Make it 21-14 Tigers.

Great thread and great opening game for both teams. I see the Tigers by three touchdowns when its all over... Nothing against BG.... They could give St.X troubles for a while, I think this set of Tigers has some business to finish.... Being the early game will certianly help.... much better than starting at 11:30 pm Louisville time (last year...) I will be attending again this year and expect to see a very, very competitive game.... We will find out early if the men are ready to play....

Three TD margin="very competitive game"????

Three TD margin="very competitive game"????

If your going to quote me, quote the whole message. Dont take my comments out of text..... I feel when its all over, the difference may be three touchdowns.... It will be a very competitive game. Playing BG in their home town will be quite a task. BG is a very sound opponent for the opening game of the season....

The KHSAA website lists the gametime at 5pm and I'm guessing that means 4pm CST.

BG / St X game will kickoff @ 5pm CST (providing there are no thunderstorms or heat issues ;) .)

I quoted the parts that were pertinent to the point. Please explain how a three touchdown margin qualifies as a "competitive game". I'm sure I'm not alone in being puzzled by this. Twenty one points is a blow-out by most standards. I think you are correct in stating that BG is a sound opponent, thats why I (and most on this board) picked them to keep it within less than two TDs.
