Walker Wood is putting on a show so far in the 6A State Final, he is awesome.

Anyone care to share any stories on Wood? He is a fantastic high school QB/player.

Rushing:

1,500 yards on 203 carries for 21 touchdowns

Passing:

164/277/6 for 2,300 yards and 20 touchdowns

What position will he play at UK? Anyone have some insight on that?

Wow!

Worth the price of admission to watch Walker Wood.

We faced him in our 2nd game at the Boyle Bowl. I was impressed. Very proud of our kids that we were able to hang with them as long as we did. Our defense played great early on. We had no offense.

We did make a conscious decision to try to limit his runs, but he is a very good passer also.

Last year he threw for 1807 yards 18 tds and ran for 1093 yards 18 tds. He has 38 tds rushing and 38 tds passing.

He took over QB at Lafayette after Clay Bolin was injured. Never gave the QB position back after taking it.

At UK, he is being recruited as an "athlete". I think he should stay at QB but there is talk of him becoming a slot receiver.

Based on tonight I believe "Athlete" is the proper designation for now.

Watched his Hudl film earlier in the year and was wowed. I can see him as a slot receiver for the Cats, but he's a heck of an athlete

Walker will play receiver in college, he has great hands. He started at slot receiver his fresh. year. When Clay Bolin and the 2nd string both were hurt with seasoning ending injuries, he's been the starter at LHS.

Definitely won't play QB at the next level, but with that type of athleticism he has to be on the field. Slot receiver and punt returner.

He very well could end up staying at qb for UK. He has one thing all qbs need he has big hands.

Considering all the trouble UK has defending a dual threat QB, maybe Walker would be an effective QB for them.
