Sorry guys! I was on my honeymoon this past week. But let it be noted that I was the one was called Frances to let her know about the situation 2 days before it was made public.

 

Now let me say, I'm really excited about basketball season now!!! I would LOVE to see Scott Humphrey. I also know that you will recognize the name of our new coach!

Scott Humphrey has a great team coming back at GRC some rate #1 in the 10th and the talent coming up is over flowing...also GRC fans and parents do not put the pressure on as what I have witnessed in Ashland. I realize he has family there. He really likes it here and believe he will stay. I sure hope so.:thumb:

Humphrey will be at GRC.

It is good to have GIAT back from his honeymoon and we all wish him and Mrs. GIAT happiness in the years to come. I understand that Mrs. GIAT has strong ties to a local private school. That will allow GIAT to expand his mind a little. Since Frances does not live in this area, it was a natural assumption that, with his contacts, GIAT had the scoop on Flynn's exodus. I assume the departure represents a belated but welcome wedding gift for GIAT.

 

I think Frances missed the point of my post concerning the unliklihood of Hall, Fraley, and/or Euton going to Ashland. It was not my point that one or more of them would not at least entertain the idea. My point was that I would doubt that Ashland, with its continued feeling of superiority and its universal dislike of Rose Hill (the latter being a mutual feeling, I should add), would hire someone who had any present or former ties to the Royal basketball program. Of course, if Ashland could pick up three or four starters for the next four years, they may be willing to "compromise" their hostility as well as their tradition. Heck. Look what similiar behavior has done for NCH.

I'm still shocked! IMO the Ashland job is the BEST high school job in the State of Kentucky and one of the top high school jobs in the country! Ashland basketball is in Springfield, MA for a reason! They are the most feared progrm in our area period. And I would guess 99% of the coaches in the 16th region don't want to pull the Cats out of the hat come disrict or regional time!!!! Ashland basketball job (in high school) is equal to the coaching job at UK, Duke, North Carolina, or Kansas!

I can't imagine too many schools in this Commonwealth that would not be delighted to have Humphrey. Young, well liked, highly respected by his peers, kids love to play for him, fans love to watch his style of play, and he has an excellent knowledge of the game.

 

I wish that he were on the market, but like Cubster and Gold Sunrise, I doubt that he's looking to move. As I understand it, he doesn't teach any classes, and that would be hard to walk away from. Couple that with the fact that he has an excellent group of talent returning, and I just can't imagine him going anywhere.

It shocks me that if a RH coach went to Ashland, RH players would go with them.

I always thought they were at Rose Hill for the Christian education.

Noboby from Rose Hill is going anywhere and I can assure you that whoever is considering the Ashland job is well aware of the level of talent that the Royals currently possess. I think that will factor is some decisions.

 

For what it's worth, I think Ashland would be foolish if they didn't approach Tim Fraley for the above reasons.

No reason to think otherwise. I believe that every child that attends Rose Hill does so by choice not by district requirements. Of course I guess the same could be said for every student in the 64th and 63rd district since those schools don't recognize the established district boundries.

Both sports should have the focus on them. Just look at Russell High School. It has the best overall sports program, boys and girls, in the area and quite possibly the state.

 

Wow, and what have you been drinking? They hace had some recent success, but nothing to merit the title as overall best program in the state.

Their first ever trip to Rupp Arena has made some people alittle crazy. Overall they do have a quality sports program especially in the non revenue sports like golf, tennis, softball, and track. Plus their football team has had a very good run of 20 to 30 years. I don't think it is the best athletic program in the state but it could be the best in the 16th region.
