In your opinion, what's the best game this first week of the season?

I'll take Bryan Station vs Dunbar on Thursday.

I'm sure the NKY faithful will say Cooper vs Cov Cath.

What other marquee matchups are there across the Commonwealth this week?

Perry vs. Hazard on the first friday night of the season. It gets no bigger than this in E Ky.

Why do they play so early?

You nailed it. Say no more.

Trinity at Jeffersonville, Indiana and then at Covington Catholic.

Opening night for each team.

SK vs Mason County or SK against Gallatin County.

How about south laurel vs Mercer Co? Should be a good one. Dunbar and Bryan Station matchup tough to beat.

BS/Dunbar will be a dandy. NKY partial here so Cooper/CCH is my pick as it is 9th region #1 vs. #2

BS/Dunbar should be the best in state game this week. But Hoopfest definitely has the best games of the week.

Hoptown probably has the most difficult game this week against J.O. Johnson.

Dunbar plays Madison Academy which will be a difficult matchup as well.

Pendleton Co. vs Scott

Paris vs Scott Co.

MoCo vs Bracken

These are some big games for the 10th region tonight.

I haven't thoroughly studied the statewide schedule this week, but the one game I saw that most jumped out at me was Trinity at CovCath on Saturday night.
