Is anyone not giving Lafayette a chance to win this game?!? I mean they are here for a reason.

Don't think Male will get 70. I think it will be something like 49-14 or 49-21.

I love the optimism, and Lafayette has improved, but 70 points to T, a comparable team to Male is hard to look past. Male is loaded at the skilled postion and that's not good against a team like Lafayette who has a porous D. Male has the best D in the state, and who had the 2nd best, T. Also history tells us that schools outside of Louisville have not faired well against talented Louisville teams, and this Male team is ranked 12th nationally. Your chances, not good.

 

Not a fan just a guy from Lexington who supporting the local high school.

Not sure about a running clock now. Lafayette does have athletes and fire power to score from running to passing, but Lafayette will fall short and I am sure by most of us here..... Lafayette still lacks defense, meaning they give up too many points.

Running clock, probably in the first half. 70, probably not.

 

Lafayette may have better athletes but Male is better coached and the talent gap isn't as wide as everyone thinks. In fact I think overall Male is the better team athletically. Lafayette hasn't faced a D this athletic since Trinity and the Rocks pitched a shutout against the General's O.

Nope, running clock will prevent it.

I know virtually nothing about either of these teams, but I do know that,since the inception of the running clock, for a team to score 70 one of two things must be true.

 

1) You must have a team that can score with you, at least enough to stave off the running clock. Judging from the comments about Lafayette on this thread, it doesn't seem like that is the case.

 

2) There must be a complete and total outclassing of the losing team. The difference has to be IMMENSE. I am not sure that, in a state championship game, there will be enough of a difference b/w the two teams.

 

So, my vote is "no"

I was at the Trinity game as well. They weren't at all prepared for a team of that caliber. Given the games that they've played since then, I'm sure they're much better prepared mentally for that level of competition. They have improved a lot, but they do still have some glaring issues.

Male was fortunate to beat a very good Trinity team. That Trinity team beat Lafayette by 70-0. Male just won at CHardin 50-0. The only reason I wouldn't predict 70-0 is because I don't think Coach Wolf will go for that. If he wanted to, he could. But in saying that, the second string guys for Male aren't scrubs and they have the ability to take it to the house too! This game is a product of the brackets period. Just callin a spade a spade. :Blackalien:

 

Imagine if it were T vs H for the 6A crown! I would be there for that game! But only coming for the BG game later that night.

Not that it makes much difference, but it was 70-14. Though it might as well have been 100-0 because it was just that much of a beatdown after the first 10 minutes or so.
