Final

Congrats Purples. Go win the damn thing lol.

Proud of this team!!!! Next week should be a dandy!!!!

Good luck Purples!!!!!!

Bowling green defense brought the attitude again tonight and shutdown Fern Creek.the Offense looked much better tonight too. Next week will be a BATTLE.

I was surprised Fern Creek didn't try more to find away to get the ball into the hands of who is supposedly their best player in #5. But great job by the Purples tonight.

Fern Creek is very good defensively and they had a good running game. They just couldn't pass. We heard a lot about the WKU signee, but I think he only had one catch. Purples defense comes up big again. Offense struggled running the ball but Jamal Carothers was the man again. 158 total yards. Next week will be a great game.

Just got home. Credit to Fern Creek Defense. Held BG to 208 yards offense. Problem was Caruthers had 148 of those yards. He is a really good high school football player!

Purples playcalling and coaching could have been best so far this year. Not just the hook and ladder but several other key calls. Our defense did their thing again. Tre Fant gets his 9th interception. Tre was second best player on field behind Caruthers.

Side note: I got to game early, sat in car with window down. Fern Creek fan pulls up next to me. I strike a conversation with him, simply wasting time tI'll I walk in. I asked him who is some players on their team I could expect to see do a good job. His response, "I'm not telling you, you'll find out soon enough." With a serious, almost threatening tone. Oh well.

Great job Purples. Good win, with no injuries. Let's finish the deal Saturday night!

This John Hardin fan doesn't want to see "hook and ladder" again. Nightmares starting all over. :isurrender:

I want to say the announcers said he'll be playing defense for WKU.

Probably just thought since they were from Louisville or the center of the universe to some and they would just come in to BG and whip us. Every fanbase probably has some of those fans, so I try not to make that a reflection of the entire school.

Huge matchup next week.

He looked good at middle linebacker, but he was a no show on offense.

Congrats to Fern Creek! Their defense played very well tonight! They had good athletes in the back 7 and very good size and stregnth in the trenches. Their offense had some success with running the ball, but simply couldnt pass it and BG made the most of it with very few mistakes tonight, which is the way you need to play to win a championship.

Purples just keep getting it done. The offense gets to go back to the carpet and the defense is playing as well as any defense right now!

Pulaski will be a tough game!

Did you make it to this game????? If so that's some dedication, and fast driving. The Highlands/Pulaski Co. game didn't get over till about 5:30.

Lawnboy,

I wanted to make the 5A Double! I left the Highlands game at about the 10 minute mark of the 4th quarter when Pulaski went ahead 34-31. I just felt they were firmly in control at that point.

I did drive about 80 the whole way to BG and got there after the hook n ladder late in the first quarter. Glad I did it now, but not sure I'd do it again, but then again it was a great day of high school football!

Really nice to meet you and GCHS! I wish NewCath played Mayfield on Saturday. Regardless, good luck in the State Championship game. It'll be a doozy!!!
