Most of what the media reports is generalized and is based on assumptions. While watching this play out the only thing I could tell that the media knew was factual was that it was snowing. For whatever reason they reminded us of that every chance they got, as if we couldn't see it on our own.

I flipped back and forth between CNN and fox, both kept talking about the snow, as if it had some importance. I kept scratching my brain then realized that the only thing that they could report on as factual at the time.

 

My 3 year old walked into the room while there was a live shot on and said "Daddy its snowing." I couldn't help but laugh and tell her she could work for the media and be on TV someday.

 

Seriously though, this is just another sad situation for our country. It will take some time to figure out what the real motive behind this is, but these type of things seem to be becoming common. Which is sad, to say the least.

 

This man was obviously well trained or he would not have been able to shoot 5 police officers and walk out of the situation on his own. He is obviously proficient with a weapon, but seems to have other training IMO. I expect he's former military. I know, there we go with assumptions again, but that's just the feeling I get. Why he did this though, I have no idea.

 

The scary thing is how many other idiots in the country have the ability to do the same thing?

Obviously, some people are thinking there's a connection between what happened in Colorado Springs today and recent Republican-led slams against Planned Parenthood. Time will tell if this factored into today's violence ... or whether this was about something else.

I'm not going to speculate if the person did this because of what others may have said about PP, that will come out later if there is a connection. But the issue here is that this is terrorism, even though sadly there was loss of life, there was a safe room at PP which I hear maybe a reason why there were not more deaths.

 

The slain officer, 44-year-old Garrett Swasey, worked for the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs and was on campus about 10 miles away when the shooting broke out. He went to the scene "in support of an officer under fire," the school's chancellor said in a statement.

This is a terrible thing that happened today. No Republicans or anyone that I know wanted this to happen. The Republicans just want the killing of innocent babies stopped.
