Obviously, some people are thinking there's a connection between what happened in Colorado Springs today and recent Republican-led slams against Planned Parenthood. Time will tell if this factored into today's violence ... or whether this was about something else.

 

There is no correlation between anything a Republican has said and a crazy person shooting people. I'm 100% pro-life and even it comes out this guy labeled himself that way it in no way defines the pro-life movement. It's hyperbole at best.

 

At no point has any Republican suggested violence , in fact the entire movement is meant to end violence and slaughter of innocent youth.

I will not blame this act on Republicans, that is just reaching too far and makes no common sense. Just because a political party's platform may be to rid the country of Planned Parenthood does not make them the blame. You cannot and should not blame a political party for the actions of an individual. So we can wait and see. There will be some far left folks that will try to rationalize it that way. But most of us know the far left and right are out of touch with most Americans and their thinking.

 

What I will NEVER understand and I won't debate it because we have in numerous threads throughout the years, is how in the world anyone would think an AK 47 should ever be legal.

 

I know the arguments and understand those that feel that way, I respect it, but probably will never see it any other way.

 

Would it have stopped this? We can never say yes or no or be sure. What we do know is this is what I read the shooter used and I just will never understand why or how he should "legally" have one.

 

Just another tragic day that will be over politicized, over debated, and nothing will change. So these things will continue. I hope the victims are able to mourn and process these tragic loss of lives in the way they would choose.

Show me one quote of any Republican who would condone this or just shut up.

 

They indirectly condone it with the inflammatory rhetoric aimed at the popular Planned Parenthood Organization. With such rhetoric it's only a matter of time until a nut takes that rhetoric to heart and targets one of these clinics. I don't think some of them lose much sleep if a PP doctor or two got taken out in a rampage by one of these crazies. Of course, none of the cowards would ever admit it publicly.

I'm glad you took a reasonable stance.

 

But on the AK-47 , automatic weapons are basically illegal. It costs a large sum of money and a very strict federal approval to purchase an automatic weapon.
