WestDanville Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Male Simon Kenton South Warren Elizabethtown Paintsville These are the remaining undefeated teams. How many will remain after the semis? I say 4 out of the 5. I think E-town drops a close one to Lex Cath.
JC Alumni 76 Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Male Simon Kenton South Warren Elizabethtown Paintsville These are the remaining undefeated teams. How many will remain after the semis? I say 4 out of the 5. I think E-town drops a close one to Lex Cath. I expect Etown to fall as well. The matchup Paintsville had with Pikeville should be a dandy. Really pulling for the Tigers, but wouldn't be surprised to see them fall in this one.
Voice of Reason Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Male at Central Hardin Simon Kenton vs. Lafayette South Warren vs. Shelby County Elizabethtown vs. Lexington Catholic Paintsville vs. Pikeville The only one of those that is a huge favorite is Male. I see all the rest as tossups. Here is my take in order of which teams I think are most certain to win. 1. Male at Central Hardin - Even though it is on the road, this looks like a big win by Male. Did Central Hardin ever crack the top 10 in 6A this year? I expect at least a 3 TD win for Male. 2. Simon Kenton vs. Lafayette - The Pioneers have the home field advantage. Lafayette has given up a lot of points this year. They are playing their best football of the year but I think Simon Kenton's offense will get the Pioneers the win. 3. South Warren vs. Shelby County - This is the ultimate coin flip game for me. I have felt South Warren is the #1 team in 4A all year. However, Shelby County has really put it together. Can South Warren's offense get it done and put up enough points to get the win? Their defense has been incredible the past several seasons. In the past 3 years in their final playoff game, the defense has allowed 16 points (2014), 8 points (2013), 20 points (2012); and they have lost all three of those games. Can South Warren's offense get enough points for the win? I think they will and will go with South Warren in this nailbiter. 4. Elizabethtown vs. Lexington Catholic - Elizabethtown isn't the favorite, even with their undefeated record. Big difference in strength of schedule in favor of Lex Cath. On the road at Lexington Catholic ... I will pick Lex Cath to get the win in this one. It will be a battle but I go with Lex Cath. 5. Paintsville vs. Pikeville - It was a close call at which team I felt was more at risk of losing between Paintsville and E-town, but I am going with Paintsville as my pick as the most likely undefeated team to lose. Paintsville needed a miracle finish to win the first time against Pikeville. Pikeville has scored 50 or more points in their last 8 games. The 50-6 blasting of Hazard last week was a big time statement. I think Pikeville is the favorite to win 1A right now out of the 4 teams left so I will go with them to get the win and playoff revenge on Paintsville.
gchs_uk9 Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 The Elizabethtown/Catholic game is at Etown
Voice of Reason Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 The Elizabethtown/Catholic game is at Etown That is correct. That is why I list it as "vs" instead of "at". I wanted to list the undefeated teams first in my post. If it were at Lex Cath, I would have listed it as Elizabethtown at Lexington Catholic. The only undefeated team on the road this week is Male.

That's what I was quoting. Either way, no big deal.

RickGrimes Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Keep talking about Etowns "weak" schedule
