Right. SW won 27-0 first time around.

 

In 2001, Portland,TN was Tennessee's defending 3A state champion, in the middle of a 27-game winning streak. In the regular season, they beat Trousdale Co. 52-12 in a regional (district) game. In the rematch in the third round of the playoffs, Portland jumped up 14-0 in the first quarter, seemingly on their way to another blowout and a 2nd state title. Trousdale wound up winning 17-14. Portland couldn't do anything right the last 3 quarters and Trousdale just kept plugging away. Hopefully that happens tonight for my Wildcats.

Here is my shockers for this year's Regional Championship games...

 

1. 2A Owensboro Catholic defeats Mayfield. I think it is time and the Aces are ready.

2. 1A Paris defeats Paintsville. The Tigers have not been as impressive lately and will lose on the road.

3. 4A Scott defeats Johnson Central. Just a feeling.

4. 5A Covington Catholic defeats Highlands, and HHS goes scoreless.
