FWIW, the coach from RA Jones 8th grade team was ejected on a double technical versus Ludlow on Saturday. There was no assistant coach. A parent from the stands coached the RA girls for the final quarter.

Blessed Sacrament beat St.Pius 8th grade today to end the Notre Dame league tied with one loss each (lost to each other). The end of season tournament starts next week. The more competitive catholic school league though was the one St. Paul started this year combining the top teams from the Brossart League and the NDA league. There have been some good games.

Where do they play those games? At the St Paul center/old Midwest Hoops? So this league would give the teams an idea of how they will stack up in the Diosesan tourney. Do they still have that for 7th and 8th grade?

The Diosesan tourney is on the schedule for the 7th grade. Week of 2/29 - 3/5.

They play at the St. Paul Center. IHM "A" and St.Pius are not in it I am guessing because they are in the public school league. St. Paul has their seventh grade team and there is another team not under a school name but I am not sure what school they are from or the ages.

In the eighth grade tournament St. Pius and Blessed Sacrament met up in the finals after SPX beat St. Paul in the semis and BSS beat St. Joes. BSS pulled out the victory. SPX had Hagan but was missing some vball kids. It was a good game. Idk about seventh grade.

The Millary 8th grader at St Paul is going to be a really nice high school player.

St. Agnes beat SPX in the 7th grade finals.

I figured when the KHSAA took over Middle School sports that they would clearly define a Middle School Season for all KHSAA Feeder Schools. But they haven't yet.

 

My daughter's middle school season (Mason County) was from May through August. So they didn't even have an opportunity to play some of the teams that are playing now.

 

I guess maybe due to numbers of girls our area basically has to do something like that so our girls can play up to form Freshmen and JV squads. The bigger areas have more girls to pick from, but there's also a lot more schools too. But it sounds/looks like a lot of the better girls get advanced anyway and don't really get a chance to even play Middle School ball.

Drummond girl from Conner 8th grade team is really good. A big with ball skills. Going to be a nice player the next 4 years for the Cougars.
