November 25, 201510 yr Author Good story in Washington Post today on Rubio's poll numbers with younger voters. Whoops, they aren't looking so good. https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/marco-rubio-is-just-the-guy-to-win-the-youth-vote-or-so-the-old-folks-think/2015/11/25/94637b70-92cf-11e5-a2d6-f57908580b1f_story.html?hpid=hp_hp-more-top-stories_rubioold-2pm%3Ahomepage%2Fstory
November 26, 201510 yr You hit on why the left worries about Rubio, especially the underlined, vs Hillary. As myself and others have stated in the past, he may get the Cuban-American vote, but he will not fair well with other Latinos.
November 26, 201510 yr He will be the next president. Republicans will turn out huge to vote against Hillary while the dems will not turn out the youth or minority vote in numbers like the past two elections.
November 26, 201510 yr Author The whole election comes down to turnout You're absolutely correct ... but let's not forget that GOP turnout in '12 was really high, yet Obama still won the Electoral College handily.
November 26, 201510 yr I thought 7 million less R's voted than in previous cycle but I could be wrong. I thought that was the year the religious right stayed home ?
November 26, 201510 yr Rubio could be a formidable candidate; especially with an astute pick on the ticket with him. He's just to the right of Atilla the Hun, to coin a phrase my dad always used, but I think he would fare better than the two current GOP frontrunners.

Don't remember if you were one or not Papa, many on here said Trump would be gone already. Not a big Trump supporter but there are polls showing him beating Hillary. Granted polls can be skewed to get whatever results are wanted. Just thought it was interesting.
November 27, 201510 yr Author I thought 7 million less R's voted than in previous cycle but I could be wrong. I thought that was the year the religious right stayed home ? Romney picked up 984,000 more votes than McCain did; similarly, 3.58 million fewer people voted for Obama in '12 than '08. Still, Obama beat Romney by a little less than 5 million votes, and 332-206 in the Electoral College.
November 27, 201510 yr He will be the next president. Republicans will turn out huge to vote against Hillary while the dems will not turn out the youth or minority vote in numbers like the past two elections. Where will he turn the Electoral College in his advantage? Answer: he won't. You might as well just say" hello, Madame President" and give it up.

Granted polls can be skewed to get whatever results are wanted. Just thought it was interesting. Polls can be skewed and you are skewed far right, especially if you think Trumpy will beat Hillary. She will pound him like Kim Davis pounds biscuits and sausage gravy.

November 27, 201510 yr I am so tired with the powers that be in the Republican party telling us who we are supposed to select. I for one am done with that and I am ready for a new direction, since the current elected officials are doing nothing for us that was promised. And I mean nothing. There's not one bit of difference between the two parties. I have not made a pick but it will definitely not be Rubio.

They have been telling everyone for months that Hillary is the choice.
November 27, 201510 yr SF -- lets do a wager for fun .. you go to church at Crossroads in Oakley for a month , once a week if a R wins ... I'll let you decide my punishment should Hillary win. deal ?
