hidinout Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 for all Americans . A strong free and impartial press is critical to keeping the public informed and keeping those in power from running amuck over the general population . Now we have " journalist like George Stephanopalous who is nothing more than a lifelong democrat operative . And now CBS is having its debate moderator meet PRIVATELY with each democrat candidate prior to this weeks debate . The entire nominating process is a joke on the democrat side . There was no public involvement , the party chose Hillary . The entire thing a sham . It?s a Setup! Dickerson Meets Privately with Democratic Candidates Before Debate
75center Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 You're surprised? Shoot in the other debate I kept expecting Hillary to tell the moderator he had worded the question different than the way they had practiced it. :sssh:
mcpapa Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Interesting that GS moderated a Democratic debate in 2008 and a Republican debate in 2012. Criticized by many in both cases. Buncha crybabies.
rockmom Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 I don't really think only the media are the problem. Candidates have many other forums where they are able to interact with the public in some manner. Most Americans are apathetic. If it wasn't for the media sound bytes, there probably wouldn't even be the minimal true interest there is now.
hidinout Posted November 14, 2015 Author Posted November 14, 2015 pap's-- So did George meet with anyone in private prior to those debates ? Do you argue GS is not a life long democrat operative now masquerading as a unbiased journo ? Do you think its good for the media to meet with candidates from 1 party in private before a debate but not another ? instead of just mouthing off flippant complaints about " crybabies" and " filthy liberals " how about adding something of value .

hidinout Posted November 14, 2015 Author Posted November 14, 2015 TTP I cant say I disagree with you . But because the GOP screwed it up in 2000 doesn't mean its any more acceptable today . And their is no PERCEIVED media bias . GS is a Clinton operative . Surely you don't he left he politics behind when he was hired at ABC ?

The funny thing is the GOP candidates disliked Fox's questions almost as much as CNBC's. Maybe the problem lies with the GOP's roster of candidates, not with "the media."

He did add something of value. All of this pitting of sides against each other and pretending that "my" side does little to no wrong and that the other side is the epitome of evil is what will be the downfall of our country.

That's the way the game is played these days. You need to quit flipping the dial on your TV set. Just makes you upset.
hidinout Posted November 14, 2015 Author Posted November 14, 2015 TTP -- Has Karl Rove ever claimed to be unbiased ? How does that compare to the position GS holds ? GS would certainly claim to be UNBIASED journalist , when in reality he's a liar .
ggclfan Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Karl Rove appears as an analyst on Fox. So does Liz Cheney. That's the way the game is played these days. You need to quit flipping the dial on your TV set. Just makes you upset. The difference is that they are on Fox as analysts and nobody hides they have a Republican background. Fox also has Democratic analysts as well. GS is not being sold as an analyst on CBS with Democratic background. He is being sold as an objective news guy when he is clearly not - big difference. BTW, don't come back that Fox leans right and supports the R's more than the D's. I know they do. They look so different in doing so because every other network or cable news operation leans the other way...some by a lot.

hidinout Posted November 14, 2015 Author Posted November 14, 2015 The rather important difference in case you have not noticed is that Karl Rove does NOT claim to be unbiased . GS does .
