November 13, 201510 yr The GOP made all the candidates sign a loyalty pledge. Now, if Trump or Carson is the nominee, will the GOP be loyal its nominee? I think Trump would be competitive against the Dem nominee. I believe his east coast roots, the your face honesty, name recognition, working class appeal and financial independence will resonate with a lot of traditionally liberal voters. I do not believe Carson would be be. He is too close to evangelicals which would result in female annihilation at the polls in a general election.

November 13, 201510 yr I posted a couple months back that the powers to be in the GOP went to Romney and had a very serious discussion about him running again. Then supposably Romney contacted campaign people and was said to be getting his campaign ready. I'm not sure what ever came if that, It did happen, I'm just wondering what Romney's final decision was, if he has made that decision yet. If he is sitting back letting all the candidates beat other up as well as let the fear of a Trump or Carson winning the nomination grow until the last minute, how much longer can Romney sit out and get on the ballots in the early primaries? I would think he doesn't have too much time left.

That's because the the folks that control the GOP expect to be able to control the positions of the candidates. The policies and independence of Trump and Carson are not in the interests of the folks that control the GOP.

Most on your list are not nearly as good a candidate IMO.

November 13, 201510 yr I'm not sure Trump even makes it to Iowa. I think he will make it there. He has too much ego, money and polling support to not make it there. That is where the rubber hits the road though. It is going to be interesting to see how the voting goes in those first few states
