Agree overall . I go with the "were they elite" criteria. I struggle with Kent despite his gaudy numbers.

November 10, 201510 yr Really hope Griffey gets in with his first year. He'll definitely get in this year, it's just a matter of whether or not he'll have the highest % of votes or not.
November 11, 201510 yr Why might some not vote for Griffey? Someone will be designated to not vote for him so that no player will ever be named on 100% of ballots.
November 13, 201510 yr I've often said the HOF is for "elite" and not just "stat accumulaters." ELITE is key for me. I also am not putting someone in based on some previous player getting in. That's on other voters. I'm not responsible for matching their logic. ELITE for me and HOF votes: Griffey Rivera Clemens Piazza Bonds Bagwell No Schilling for me. Just wasn't elite enough years. I actually struggled more with Mussina than Schilling. Trammel - not elite- really, really good but not elite.

Pitched 19 post season games with 11-2 record...that's enough for the HoF? He was really good in those games but is that enough to call him an all time Elite Player?
