For a Sophomore Adams is uncanny in his ability to read the defense. Of course I only saw him in person against FS. It seemed that FS was playing the "We're gonna make you famous" defense that night. The whole concept of assignment defense seemed to have never sunk in with the Cats. But Adams did a masterful job of reading the misdeeds of the FS boys.

 

Paul Johnson should be taking an interest in this kid.

I'm hoping Greenwood comes out passing and makes a game out of it. It would shock more than a few people.

Greenwood doesn't like to pass, but they can at times. I think Greeenwood will have to show the ability to pass if they want to upset OHS. Against Graves, the Eagles freshman QB Ryan Mathis went 12-27 for 165 and that opened up the run for RB Dakota Adams to have a huge night. Graves almost pulled the upset, losing 20-19.

 

I'm not sure Greenwood wants to put the ball in the air 27 times, but the Gators will need to pick and choose some spots to air it out a little. If not, OHS will just load the box and the Devils are too talent across the board to give up much rushing yardage.

 

I can't wait for Friday. I fully expect OHS and BG to meet up next Friday, but both teams need to only focus on the game at hand. Playoff time is never a good time to look ahead.

I have never seen as many face palms as I did that night.

I fully expect a couple trick plays from Graves - halfback pass, SoL, or fake option/pass, reverse. If the counter is your secret play against OHS, I think you are in trouble. They have t pass or it will be over quickly. Greenwood better be able to at least throw some WR screens or slants. Owensboro ran a similar type offense last year, but their QB was exceptional at throwing all types of passes.

I agree with spinstop . The Gators will surprise you . I know it was the first game of the season but I watched OHS play WC at WKU earlier this year. What I saw on OHS side of the ball was a big team , but a SLOW team as well. They will have to be a lot quicker than then . I'm not sure GW will win. I would be concerned about my speed If I were a OHS coach. They better play assignment football

Slow???!!! Wow. If you watched OHS and observed a slow team then I'm not sure anything I type will convince you otherwise. I do have a question for you daddydownsouth: which team you've seen would you consider "fast"?

South Warren for starters has linemen that could out run some of their skilled position players. Central Hardin is faster and more athletic . BG is a lot faster. If OHS plays BG again it won't be near as close as the first one . Do you want me to name more?
