D58, that's insane the talent and speed. We who around Oboro know how fast Morton and Lewis are. And we know how to compare our team to previous OHS teams, who are never lacking in speed. To me, this is the fastest TEAM speed we've had in a long while.

 

What about the Freshman Green who went in for a TD the other night is he pretty fast too?

 

I think Trevon Green has a ton of upside. He's more shifty than "fast" but the kid has a great work ethic from what I hear. Again, the biggest thing all young kids can do is continue to work out, do skill specific drills in the offseason, run track (i'm a big believer in it), and make the best grades possible in the classroom.

Yeah, that is always a concern. I'd like to see OHS get enough depth to only play guys one way. OHS does have a completely different offensive and defensive line, which is a luxury by itself. Most of the OHS skill guys go two ways, but OHS does have the ability to substitute to give those guys a break. Not perfect, but the staff has done a wonderful job this year of finding breaks when needed.

The good thing is really Board is full-time RB while James has shifted to almost full-time safety and a little WR.

The talent that Owensboro has doesn't get enough credit from people outside of Owensboro. I've watched them for years and to say they have little speed is insane. They've always seem to have very quick backs and db's. This year is no different!

Without hijacking thread, let me say this. During Purples 48 game win streak, I so much wished BG played Highlands. I knew we were very special during that run.

 

Likewise, I wish Owensboro and/or BG played South Warren this year. I guess what makes it even more of a wish is that South fans want it also. I do know that South is good, really good. But, my opinion, I don't think South sees (or believes) that both Devils and Purples would lay one on them.

 

I guess we will never know but I see South losing by 3 scores to the Moonlight boys as well as the Purples. Too much speed!

 

I know I will have several comments from this, but so be it. I think (know BG and Devils) would shut out their opponents as well if they played same schedule.

If all you care about is SW, stay in a 4A thread. Please read the title of the article and discuss those two teams. It's always seemed to be brought up that South Warren is better than any team that's discussed on a thread. If you wanna talk about South being better than someone, wait until you schedule them or talk about it in a South thread. Same the other way around.

Here's a stat that (kinda) matters - Greenwood has never beaten Owensboro. In fact, they have not beaten any of the teams left in the 5A Region 1 playoffs, going 0-8 against Owensboro, 0-5 against Christian County (including one playoff matchup), and of course, 0-24 against Bowling Green.

 

A win would give Greenwood their second 10 win season ever (the other in 2009), and they've already clinched the best winning percentage in school history (no worse than .750), breaking the .727 record they set in the 2012 8-3 campaign.

It's about they pull the upset on one of these teams.. They have a decent team this year and looks like they'll continue to be pretty decent if not better for the next couple years

I know I may be in the minority, but I think South Warren would give the Red Devils and Purples a very good game this year. I don't think they would win, necessarily, but you never know. Their whole program has been built for this year. Next year they will be average. Ive never seen a program built from the ground up have more success, although at a great cost to other schools. All the talk will be over after this year. Greenwood will beat them next year.

South Warren fans remind me of John Hardin fans.
