Man is Fatally Stabbed After Taking The Last Piece Of Chicken, Cops Say

Featured Replies

A man was fatally stabbed when an argument over a piece of chicken got out of control, according to reports.

Reinaldo Cardoso Rivera, 38, from Houston, Texas, has been charged with the murder of Perez Gonzalez, 34, also from Houston.

Five men had been making dinner and drinking in an apartment in the western area of the city - but dinner reportedly turned deadly after Gonzalez took the last piece of chicken.

The row escalated into a fist fight which ended up spilling out into the parking lot of the apartment complex, according to police. Rivera then allegedly stabbed Gonzalez before running away from the scene with a knife. Gonzalez died at the scene.

When he returned to the scene of the crime, police say he then admitted to them that he had stabbed Gonzalez.

Rivera was arrested and charged with murder. He is being held in Harris County jail on $200,000 bond, according to online jail records. An attorney is not listed.

Longtime resident John McDonald heard the police sirens and saw the patrol car lights flashing, but had no idea what all the commotion was about.

"I just felt that a human life taken over a piece of chicken is ridiculous,” McDonald said to KPRC Houston.

But who got to eat the last piece of chicken?!

I've heard of finger licking good chicken before...but stabbing good chicken?:idunno:

No offense, but stories like this crack me up. The headline is about a man killed another man over a piece of chicken. I'm sure it wasn't the chicken. It's usually all about respect. You can't let people disrespect you.

Better watch out, thems fighting words!

Hate to joke about something like this, but I love chicken too so I understand

This is a really fowl story.

OK, so this man snapped over a piece of chicken. I'm sure booze was involved. He was not abused nor mentally tormented over the past few years of his life so he had no time to think to prepare himself for that particular moment. Does this make him a threat to kill again or will he learn his lesson in a few years behind bars?

Clearly, the man has some mental issues. Unless he receives counseling while in prison, he could very well snap again someday. JMO

Than he walks on being mentally unfit for trial?

In stead of stabbing him, he could have choked the guy. Chocking over chicken...would have made a more interesting headline.:whistling:
