Knee Jerk Reaction after games on 11/1 (Bengals Perspective)

Featured Replies

I don't know about the rest of you but I've felt the Bengals sat pretty comfortably as the #2 team in the AFC behind the Patriots going into yesterday.

The Bengals game doesn't really adjust that for me. For whatever reason the Bengals usually struggle after a bye, they were playing in Pittsburgh against a pretty tough team.

The Broncos game, however, has me questioning if we are are the #2 team in the AFC. That defense in Denver did what most will never do. Not only did they contain Rodgers, they made him look below average. Their run games seems to be gaining steam with Hillman & Anderson. Manning looked much better last night throwing the ball down field and including his TEs (just no TDs).

Think the Bengals are still the #2 team? Or are they #2a & #2b with Denver? Or even the #3 team?

#3. No way you put a Dalton led team ahead of Manning or Brady. QB's win games in the league.

Broncos defense is scary good.

I think the Broncos defense and Cardinals defense are the two that can simply shut down offenses at anytime.

Agree NE and Denver rate ahead of the Bengals.

I would take Bengals offense over Denver, but their Defense is the trump card. Their Defense puts them ahead of the Bengals.

It's looking like it will take 14 wins to get a 1 or 2 seed in the AFC... I think all 3 of those teams are capable of it... The Bengals play Denver later in the year and that will decide it IMO.

It could take 16 wins honestly

There realistically could be 2 teams undefeated going into the playoffs.

I felt the Bengal's were #2 as well and Denver's play had me second guessing.

I did just hear on First Take that Aaron Rodgers is 3-9 on the road in Primetime games and he is 0-5 against top 5 defenses. I think the top 5 defense stat may be on the road but not sure.

Of course Rodgers is money at home.

Well the Bengals did beat the Broncos and that defense last year while the Bengals were playing without many of their offensive weapons that they have now.

Denvers defense is very good because they can pressure the qb. However the Bengals had success last year agaisnt that defense running right at it. And that was without having all the weapons the Bengals have this year. I think we will see the Bengals start using more power running when the weather gets cold again and that should help agaisnt teams like Denver.

Rodger's is terrible, they should start the back up quarterback on the road.

Gonna be pretty tough since Denver gets the Pats and the Bengals at home.

Goes to prove my point of fans hanging on a "name" rather than results. Rodgers is a stud but has had his off moments as well. If it was Dalton with this stat we wouldn't hear the end of it. And, NO, I'm not saying Dalton is better than Rodgers.

I think it all comes down to injuries. Whichever team is healthier heading into the game at Denver, I believe gets the first round bye. 2a and 2b in my opinion. Bengals offense could do enough damage to give the team a chance to win, and Burfict being back sures up the tackling with the linebackers (which has been there biggest problem all year) so I think the Bengals defense will finally get some momentum. I know we are 7-0, but its possible this team's best football is ahead of them. Who-Dey!

The Bengals could go 15 and 1 and still only be a 3 seed. Or the Bengals and Pats both could go 16 and 0 but one of the teams would have to settle for only the 2nd seed. It's crazy lol
