10 wins against teams that wouldn't compete for a 6A title don't mean much. In fact I don't even like the fact that Trinity had to have Seneca and JTown on the schedule because they did nothing to help the Rocks but they were stuck because of district play. NKY teams until they win the big one always will deal with these comments as long as their out of district games are middle of the road teams.

 

Right because a game with Moeller, Cincy X, Elder or Coelrain would be soo expensive to schedule.

 

They will come back with references to Ryle, Highlands and CCH and how much those games helped them. They are happy with 10-0 regular seasons in Independence. That's fine, but don't get upset when the rest of the state can clearly see how you got there and refuses the respect they so adamantly demand. I would respect an 8-2 SK that would lose to a couple heavy weights far more than these paper tigers they've been trotting out there.

Maybe the big boys in NKY need to stop scheduling inferior opponents to pad the record and go play someone, at least then they can gauge what they need to compete?

 

Maybe we can take SK and Ryle and change them to private schools and all of the kids in NKY can go to one of the two and we can recruit and have no borders and then kick the crap out of the Louisville schools and then we can pat ourselves on the back constantly about how many titles we have won on an unlevel playing field. We heard the talk last year. Dixie had closed the gap, they were not the typical NKY team. At least they managed to get in the end zone in the championship game, I guess from that perspective things really were better for NKY 6A.

The 10 wins deserve respect. We lined up every week and ended up on the right side of the scoreboard every week.

Call me when a 6a school from NKY is still playing vs the varsity in the second half in BG. Trinity could go undefeated every year too if they scheduled like your boys do. Same with Male/St X and Scott County. The choose to sacrifice that unblemished record by scheduling tough to prep for what matters.

If this is the benchmark for good, then the only teams in the state in 6A that are good are Trinity and St. X. Male hasn't done this in years so they don't qualify as good either. Scott Co. was a one year fluke.

Honestly, I doubt that NKY would ever dominate 6A even if they did what you suggested, but I would welcome another powerhouse in 6A. Steel sharpens steel and having better competition in the state would only be good.

Simon Kenton's strength of schedule this year is better than Male's. Point of reference for Trinity fans. I believe they are familiar with Male.

 

And let's stay focused on this year because the past doesn't really matter when looking at this year's results.

No, no concern here. I don't doubt that this SK squad is capable, it's just that until they prove themselves to be more than their predecessors I will consider them good, but not that good. If I am worried about any team it is Male because they have shown they can beat us.

Male played Trinity to an overtime loss last year because of how the tournament is set up. Otherwise those two would have been in the finals.
