The only difference is one way Paris risks a freak injury in the First half and another team loses money... the other Paris doesnt risk an injury and the other team saves a several hundred dollars to go toward next year

I'm just looking at consistency. Raceland has had to play Phelps in the playoffs recently, and trust me, those kids didn't want to play that game either but they were forced to for the sake of the Six Class System.

IF Beechwood loses, I'm sure the Ranking Staff will have some good discussions about what to do. Like you alluded to, it will depend on how all the teams play, if Beechwood lost by less then one score, it would not be as clear cut as if they lost by 21. We'll have to see how it plays out.

Having seen NewCath, Pikeville, and Paintsville play...

 

I would consider NewCath to be basically a toss-up with those teams this year.

 

If Beechwood loses they fall behind both teams.

 

 

 

 

Shelby Valley, on the flip side, should not stay within 2 TD's of Paintsville.

IMO ... yes, Beechwood has to lose for Paintsville to jump over them. Paintsville is a big favorite over Shelby Valley so there isn't anything they can do in that game that would cause them to jump up to number one.

The way I see it, the KHSAA needs to tell Paris High School something. Make it official that Phelps is out for one and then let them know that Berea will or will not take Phelps' place. I really don't understand what they are waiting on ... it's that simple!
