Belfry has a great team and should be proud of it...as should Boyle.

 

We weren't full strength either, nobody was by seasons end. BCMS average margin of victory was 47-9 after it being 35-10 last year w/11 starting positions held by 7th graders (8th graders now). Undefeated 2 years running with a very balanced attack, tons of speed and a starting defense that gave up 4 TDs all year.

 

It would have been a great game versus Belfry. See you guys in a couple of years.

Please remember...you saw Belfry less than 100%. First string tailback, fullback, Center, Middle Linebacker and Defensive End all did not play. Believe me....at full strength....they're a different animal

So Boyle has had the same starters for the last two years? No 8th graders started last year? After rereading that I believe you're saying out of 22 starting positions 11 were held by 7th graders. Do they have a 7th and 8th grade teams or just one?

We have an A team and a B team...last year 10-11 of the starting positions were taken by 7th graders on the A team. This year all of those players were in the 8th grade.

 

Last year they were 11-0.

 

This year 12-0.

Then why come on here and discuss Boyle at all? They chose not to participate. End of discussion

 

Go back and do some reading! I wasn't on here talking about Boyle until the comment was made about the staff doing the middle school kids a disservice. That was the only reason i made a comment, I don't think i said anything bad or good about any program. I just made a comment about the disservice and staff. End of discussion!!

Unfortunate situation and learning experience to be sure (I have first hand knowledge). This team was unbeaten since 4th grade. BG was doing NOTHING to hurt us on offense @ all. We couldn't get going as 3 of our 7th graders had seen significant time VS Mayfield in the 8th SF win. The tailback twin finally gets going and even after several mystery hankies, under 3:00 to go gets a toss sweep down to the 3 for a 1st down (or we thought) but was flagged for SPEARING (ran over 3 kids and hit them with facemask/ shoulder). It was in the books then.....nope. Both he and his brother were ejected on the ensuing drive for violent (but legal) hits. The one and only pass play of 25 or so yards later plus 50 or so yards in flags gets them to our 7 with 1:00 to go. Punched it in. Then twins kinda lost it. Inexcusable but understandable. 24 games into season, refs just JOBBED US!! All video evidence on Prepspin. No comment from the association. Hats off to BG for being so "pesky" and hanging in there.

 

The boys are really good straight A boys but the "white hat" and crew had just pushed them too far. Silly for adults to do. But I guess the bottom line is we let them do it to us... We will be back and better than ever!!
